•Service 5/5: our server was a gem! She never let our coffee run out, she even remembered us when we came a second time, then asked how our trip was, very thoughtful. We never waited long for meals, everything was served hot.

•Coffee 5/5: brewed to perfection, strong, yet not bitter. Comes with a little trough of cream, so you’re set for the entire meal!

•Veggie Scramble + Fresh Fruit 4.75/5: my friend got this twice, enjoyed both times. Eggs and all ingredients were fresh, fruit was an added bonus. They allowed him to swap toast for an English muffin.

•Denver Omelette 4.5/5: huge portions, sourdough toast was nice and crisp, eggs cooked to perfection, delicious hash-browns. Fillings had nice flavor, fresh, well distributed throughout.

•Biscuits & Gravy 3.5/5: decent portion. Gravy was creamy, yet not heavy. Flavor-wise, kind of like mushroom soup, but lighter.

•California Omelette 4.75/5: I got this both times, delish! Could be shared with two light eaters. They forgot avocado the first time, so I was happy they remembered the second time. Eggs were perfect, not dry. Loaded with spinach, tomatoes, and jack cheese. I LOVED their hash browns! Pleasant surprise to find a place that makes delicious hash-browns that aren’t greasy or salty. Sourdough was good too.

•Atmosphere 5/5: clean, inviting, bright. There’s a covered area so it feels like you’re outside, but can keep cool with A/C. Booths were comfy, didn’t feel crowded.

I’d return in a heartbeat! Great breakfast/brunch, fair prices for the portions, excellent service, kudos...

When I needed a restaurant in close proximity, I didn't realize Olives Bistro was in a hotel. I couldn't tell from pics and didn't bother to read reviews; I only saw the rating. When you walk in, don't be alarmed; there's a small front bar area with the restaurant in back. The place looks as pictured with a good menu and standard prices. It wasn't crowded, but I was there during the week for breakfast. The food looked good and tasted better. I shared the cinnamon roll french toast and had a Denver omlette with home fries. The french toast is big enough to split with three people. It was good, but I imagine something a little better (that's my fault). It's nice that the cinnamon rolls are made in-house for the french toast (just don't imagine something decadent and gooey like Cinnabon; I didn't, but for example). I could've used more cinnamon and icing, but it was tasty. Def worth it for the size, if you're HUNGRY! I don't recall if it came with sides. Doesn't come with syrup, but they will provide if asked. The omlette was really good and stuffed; the ham could've been bigger in pieces as it was hardly noticeable. The home fries (diced and fried with onions and peppers) were so good. I always get HF if offered; so these were some of my faves cause they weren't too "dry" (fried hard and not softened)!! I wouldn't drive cross town for a visit, but if close by, I'd easily return to...

This place was great the first day 11/23/21 we ate there, I ordered the French toast combo and substituted the eggs for country potatoes. My husband had the biscuits and gravy. The server was friendly.

Today 11/24/21, we went back and ordered the same thing. The server said she couldn’t substitute the eggs for potatoes in which both my husband and I replied with,”they did yesterday.” The server said she’d have to talk to her manager. She went back and talked to them, then came out and asked us which table we sat at yesterday and we told her. She went back to their ordering system to look up the order (ya know, incase I was lying). She then went back to the manager who is actually the chef and then came back out and told us that he said that they cannot substitute and the server yesterday shouldn’t have either. My husband and I decided that if they couldn’t do something this simple, like they did the day before, then they weren’t worth our money.

I’m pretty sure eggs and potatoes are the same price at the store. Ridiculous and horrible service and why would you need to confirm if we’re lying about eggs...

Our first dinner in California was brought to you by Olive’s Bistro, located inside the Coast Anabelle Hotel, where my partner and I were staying in Burbank. Upon entering by passing a crowded, vibrant bar, we had the whole place to ourselves at this warm, intimate vibe for a while. The menu was limited to two pages and decided on the French onion soup, Chicken Cobb Salad, and Mushroom Burger. Everything was prepared on-site, from the sauces to the salad dressings to the homemade rolls. The food arrived hot and well-seasoned. The Cobb Salad could easily feed enough for two people. Even though the mushroom burger was specifically listed with sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, and melted Swiss, it also came with raw onions, lettuce, tomato, and a sauce that was a total letdown and should have stuck with the menu. The price was fair for the amount of food that one got. The staff were very personable, and they made you feel welcome, which we could recommend.

We were looking for something to eat after spending all day on an airplane without food. The bar was crowded and the banquet room was booked but the restaurant only had a few tables occupied. I ordered the Fish & Chips and the wife got the Taco Salad. Both were amazing! The service was quick and the food was hot. They have a full bar and an extensive food selection. I am very glad we gave it a try.
