I stopped in to eat and the dining experience was not what we expected.  There was only one waitress at lunchtime-it was around  12:15pm, and our food was mediocre. I contacted the manager Joe about it and he said that he would call me back but did not. We ordered the skirt steak salad and the Brussels sprouts.  The skirt steak was overcooked and hard.  We specifically ordered this despite the bad reviews that said that the steak was overcooked, and asked our waitress Jada to make sure that the steak wasn’t overcooked. I ordered the Brussel sprouts and requested the Barrata on the side and to substitute the jalapeño sauce with creamy Italian dressing and the Greek dressing (that Jada said they had) for the side.  The photo I saw of the Brussel Sprouts showed the cheese melted and spread on top of the Brussel sprouts, so I figured that I could dip my Brussel sprouts in the cheese. I let the waitress know that we were in a hurry when we were seated, and Joe as well and when we arrived at close to 12:15pm and he assured us that it would be fast.  As did our waitress.  We didn’t get served until around 1:20pm.  By the time we were served we had to let them know to box it to go.  We had a long drive ahead of us, 50 miles, and needed to be there by 2pm. When we got in my car and opened our containers that’s when we discovered the inedible steak and my side of cheese was refrigerator cold and my dressing was the jalapeño side and the creamy Italian. The food definitely did not live up to my expectations. Joe offered for us to get refunded by coming back or remaking, but as I explained, we needed to be 50 miles away in 30 minutes at that point and we were already on the freeway. Additionally, Joe told me that the cheese for the Brussel sprouts is never melted, they don’t have Greek dressing, and seemed skeptical that the steak was overcooked.  I took photos.  My friend described the steak as tasting like it had already been pre-cooked, not made to order, and as if it had been sitting out for a while.  It was a very disappointing experience. We were rather hungry and excited to try something new and different.  I had convinced my friend to not go to the Poke place next door and to try this restaurant-especially when I asked how long to be served and was told it wouldn’t be long. Joe assured me he would call me back in the afternoon when he had time, but didn’t.  When I called back around 6pm, Molly told me that he was already gone and that there was no manager working at the time.  She stated that Joe wouldn’t be back to work again until Wednesday.  I find it even more upsetting to be told by Joe that he would do something and he didn’t follow through. I work hard for my money, just as everyone does nowadays, and when I spend it, I like to get what I pay for.  I did not get what I paid for.

Stopped by this spot with my wife the other morning for brunch. We live in the area and had been wanting to try it out for quite some time. Both the outside and inside decor and appeal were wonderful. The staff was very warm, friendly and welcoming. We were seated quickly and received water and settings equally as fast. They offer indoor as well as sidewalk seating. Note that space inside is somewhat limited so most table are set for 2-4 people but they do have the ability to serve larger parties if need be. I ordered the Omelet of the Day and my wife ordered the short stack of pancakes. I found my omelet to be a good portion and the goat cheese had wonderful flavor to it. The vegies were fresh and the side salad was nice as well. However my wife's pancakes were a little bit of a different experience. When she ordered they asked if she would like strawberries or blueberries with it. She requested strawberries. When the order arrived the pancakes came plain and we were then informed that they were out of strawberries. The server was apologetic and offered a jam substitute but she gracefully declined. As she began to eat her meal she found the pancakes to be bit dry and tough. As we were in a bit of a hurry she did not want to ask to have another order so she ate what she could and took the rest home. All in all the experience was good. Again, the servers were kind, polite and attentive. We will give it another try soon and I hope to be able to give it a 5 star after the next visit.

WAY overpriced for teeny tiny portions. We had the veggie nachos, which were delicious. The vegetable melange was so tasty. There wasn't enough cheese, but they were still very good. They were big enough for 1 person. Smaller than a personal pizza. The fried pickles were excellent, as was the Sriracha mayo dipping sauce, but again, super small portion. The street corn was very good, but alas, TINY. AND, they added a charge for cutting the corn off the cob! Not cool. We didn't ask for it to be cut off the cob. It was only 1 cob anyway. Very annoying. We finished with the Mac and cheese which was a big disappointment. It was soupy. Very watery. Flavorless. The pasta itself was cooked fine, but the cheese was very watery and had no flavor. And again, very small portion. I would liken it to a SIDE of Mac and cheese. For $17, we figured it was a main dish. It was also listed as a main dish. The service was slow and not very attentive. It's also a small place, so it wouldn't take much to keep an eye on all patrons. Despite the overpriced food and so-so service, the atmosphere was GREAT. Vintage feel, cool light fixtures, wood wall fixtures and the bar was nicely decorated. Our check was delivered in an old paperback, which was unique. But that couldn't make up for the tiny amount of food and the massive check.

This restaurant has become a favorite of mine and my friends within the last year. I have lived in Burbank my whole life and can't believe I have never been here to dine. The staff is so friendly and fun to chat with. There is never a rush they are more than happy to stop by your table for a few words of conversation. We've gotten to know some by name and always enjoy their company. There is indoor seating, tables that line the front of the building on the sidewalk, and a back patio with picnic tables (currently under construction). The decoration inside is so classy and relaxing. The hodgepodge of silverware that is on the table is always fun to examine. Your check is delivered in an old book. It's so fun to flip through the pages and even read a paragraph or two. This restaurant is great for groups as well as an intimate setting for two. The food is made fresh and delicious. If you are ever unhappy with anything they will always make it right by you. Some of my favorites are the grilled cheese sandwich, meatloaf, macaroni and cheese, fries, chips, and tater tots with garlic aioli dip. Brunch is served only on Sundays until 2:00pm. Always check out their specials when they have them (they can be found on a separate menu). I have had some of the best steak cooked to melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Don't forget dessert! There is a featured cake for each day. The cake is baked fresh and served until it's gone. Some of the favorites I have had are the red velvet, carrot cake, chocolate, and lemon blueberry. They also have banana pudding, cholate mousse, and deep fried Oreos with ice cream. We have been here until closing many times and are never made to feel rushed out the door. I always leave full and happy. I will continue to recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a fresh meal with a...

I never write bad reviews but this awkward exchange made me feel like I should. I ordered strawberry milkshakes online after searching for "good milkshakes in Burbank". After ordering I got a call about 5 minutes later that there was no Strawberry left and had to choose between Vanilla Bean and Double Chocolate. I settled for Vanilla and asked for maybe a caramel swirl to which she replied "We're pretty basic here". Ok that's fine.

I get there and scoop the milkshakes up and get to the car and they taste like nothing. Like, literally nothing. And I like vanilla milkshakes, but they should taste like SOMETHING. And we had already paid and tipped and thought, maybe we should just get a refund. So we go back inside and politely let the girl behind the counter know that there's no flavor or anything to the milkshakes. And we could already tell she didn't want to deal with us once we walked back in and she responded with an attitude "that's what i told him on the phone" ... and that's all she said. She didn't offer a refund or ask how to make it better. Vanilla doesn't taste like nothing ma'am. We added chocolate syrup to one of the milkshakes but ultimately they just tasted like cheap gross store bought ice cream and flat milk. So we threw them out.

The place is beautiful though. I wanted to come back and try the food sometime but the interaction with the woman left a bad taste in our mouths. Luckily, one (of two customers dining in that night) leaned in and whispered "Should have gone to Big Boy's Diner" .. which we did immediately after. I know this restaurant/wine bar shouldn't have been the go-to spot for a milkshake but certainly expected something better than what we we're given. Including...
