We found Billy's kinda by accident, but glad we did! It used to be the old Blueberry Cafe, but the Billy's sign is easy to miss as it's light gray on a white background LOL So when we were told it was a half hour wait at another nearby place on the other side of the RR tracks, we strolled down to Billy's and were seated immediately! Ok, so first thing - this is a classic old-school cafe, meaning lots of chrome barstool-style seats along a counter, plus the usual tables and booths which all show signs of long and loving use. A lot of the table tops are cracked and/or delaminating. It's not some shiny, new, hipster, thematic place - it's 100% real and authentic Americana! Lots of pretty dated decor and materials, but it has real ATMOSPHERE and flavor, and is charming. This is exactly the kind of small-town joint that locals love and are rabidly loyal to - and with good reason! I had chicken-fried steak with eggs, hash-browns and homemade sausage gravy, my wife had French toast with some kind of mixed berry compote, and both were dynamite! Very large portions, took the leftover halves home and had for bfast the next morning.

Highly, highly recommend Billy's at least for breakfast (need to try the lunch menu next!). Staff is very friendly and keeps coffee mugs full (excellent coffee too, BTW!)

Excellent experience at Billy's, will def be back. Only criticism is the...

Service, service, service!! Let me say it loud and clear.... SERVICE!!! When the entire staff of a restaurant is present, connected, participating and involved it shows and we are paying attention! Matter of fact, we love the attention! The entire staff was funny, friendly and attentive to each and every customer.

The food is amazing cafe food served hot and fast! The portions are huge so come hungry or have room in the fridge for some great leftovers! The Chicken Fried Steak and CFS Burrito will definitely feed two folks each, as will a whole lot of other menu items! The servers need to be body builders to carry some of those loads!! Hubby had the Chicken Fried Steak and could only eat half! I had a few bites to help him out and it was delicious, just as important, the gravy was seasoned and had a real good texture. Our adult daughter had the breakfast burrito and had to take half of it home! I had a "normal" breakfast and it was all cooked to perfect order including the eggs and hashbrowns extra crispy!

Billy's is the #1 rated breakfast place in Burlington for a few reasons, the top two being the service and portions of delicious food! I highly recommend a visit and will definitely be back when...

My family’s first time here. Tried to go to the TrainWreck across the street but it was 21+. I am so glad we went here instead. I had the country fried steak, the wife had the farmer’s skillet. One daughter had the cinnamon roll pancakes and the other two did biscuits and gravy. Everything was cooked fast and perfect. My hash browns must have been waiting for me to come in way ahead of time because they were perfectly crispy and tender at the same time. The country fried steak was huge and didn’t disappoint. Perfectly seasoned with plenty of gravy. Eggs over medium were perfect. Good job! I’ll be recommending this place to anybody that is wanting breakfast in the Burlington area. Be careful not to eat too much... it’s easy to do. The service was super friendly, quick, and accurate. Very accommodating. She saw we were big coffee drinkers so she gave us the big coffee cups. In the words of a wise man/terminator...

We decided to try Billy's Cafe for our Costco run this month. Honestly, it's a pass for next time. My husband ordered his usual chicken fried steak, medium eggs and dry toast along with Tomato juice and coffee. The juice and coffee were excellent. The steak was mostly breading, the eggs were barely over easy and the toast dripping with butter. The gravy was meh. They did take the chicken fried steak of our bill. I got the full house cinnamon roll French toast. It was also a disappointment with the highlight being excellent bacon. The eggs were supposed to be over medium and again barely over easy. The frosting was sour instead of sweet- almost greek yogurt sour. The service was excellent other than the subpar breakfast but not his fault. The window sills could use a cleaning, but the tables and restrooms were clean.
