Been here multiple times but never did a review. I'm used to this being a comfortable local place to enjoy good food but the past visit a couple weeks ago wasn't as good. The food was still good but the service and local hospitality was not what I remembered. When we walked into the restaurant, they were not crazy busy but they were steady. We were the only ones at the front with a waitress and a host both in the immediate area. No good morning or welcome or even hello, I'll be right with you. Silence. Eventually, we were greeted and taken to a table. The waiter was not very attentive. Had to ask a passing waitress for a couple things while we were wondering where our waiter was. When he did come by, he was cordial but not super friendly. The other thing that was a concern was that the waiter reached out our plates full of food instead of setting them down. There were 2 of us and the areas in front of us were not blocked. Please consider that not everyone has the strength in their hands to take a full plate of food from you. For some people it comes and goes, others may look able but could be having a flare up. Be considerate and set the plate down by your guest. It would be appreciated and lead to a larger tip. Food was good. Atmosphere was good.

Took my family on a recommendation, for a small town diner it was ok, they weren't to busy for lunch, but the service was really slow. The kids ordered pig's in a blanket w/lemonade and hungry man breakfast w/water. They said it was good. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, fries, cup of chicken dumpling soup w/sprite, the server never asked how I wanted my burger so it came out well done, fries were a little over done but good, drink had more ice than sprite in it. The soup was ok. Imo the menu had way to many choices. Some of the prices are competitive with other restaurants in the area, and some were more. There is really nothing that sets this place apart from others in the area.

A slice of Small-town Americana is such a nice and refreshing alternative from the mid century minimalist aesthetic we are all so used to. Our server was Angie and she was a delight. A pro in banter and she made us feel very at home. I got myself a “divorced eggs Benedict,” which was phenomenal, and my old lady got the chicken tendies, which were 100% amazing. The star of the show was the chicken and dumpling soup! So good, so hearty, and I wish it was snowing outside because this is the best thing for that. The booths, the people, and the dishes were amazing and I hope to be back one day!

We walk in and it's not slow but not overwhelming busy. We sat as a party of 8. My elderly grandparents. My wife and kids. My father is a cancer survivor and my mom is a healthcare worker. They are very careful with there health. Well we get seated and then gets out drink requests and that take about 15 mins before we receive that. She comes back takes our order and almost forgets one of my children until I bring it to her attention. My grandparents ordered a salad to come with there meals. When they arrived the lettuce was wilted and gross. Once again they watch their health strictly. Waiter takes the food back to have it remade and she comes back sets the bowl down and says "we have no more cucumber" and walks away. At this point we are getting through our starters and need refills but even after asking they are no where to be found. So we split the one drink we did have between the kids. Now we get the mains. My wife's chicken wrap with no tomatoes , can you guess..had tomatoes. They took it back and we hard some arguing and then finally a new plate arrived correct this Time, just bland. I ordered a regular burger but ended up getting told it's a good deal to get there double burger. When it arrives I couldn't even it. Bland. You can tell it was taken from freezer to grill with no seasoning.i had to make the excuse, I was full off 2 bites of Patty that are no way as large as they claim them to be as the menu said 1/2 pound burgers. My son didnt get the cheese he asked for for his speghtti until we got ready to leave. All the food for taken home and thrown away. Worst experience I have ever had. Will tell everyone I know to skip the place. Bill came to 67.00. although most of believe she wasn't worth tipping die to horrible food and service. Still tipped 13$. which ig things had gone will was gonna tip 40. Payed the bill and expressed concerns of how on upset we were due to basically poor food to the owner. All he could say sorry and that they are short handed. I ran a restaurant for years and never had this...

Placed a takeout order on 2/8/23. 1/2 Biscuits & Gravy Vegetarian Skillet (No Cheese)

Picked up the order and when I arrived at my work the Vegetarian Skillet was covered in cheese. I immediately called and spoke to a women who took my information and let me know when I come in today 2/9/23 that it would be taken care of and free of charge.

I called this morning 2/9/23 and spoke to a gentleman and explained the situation. He took my order but was unable to find my information the woman I spoke to took down. When I arrived, the gentleman I spoke to on the phone greeted me and let me know he still was unable to find my information. I presented him with my receipt from my purchase on 2/8/23. He told me he'd only charge me $8.50 for the meal instead of the $10+ and I was just about to walk out when he pointed out that the food was already prepared. I reluctantly purchased the food as I didn't want it to go to waste. When all was said and done I paid $28.45 total for 2 meals.

The staff was friendly and they did what they could, I don't fault them for that. How can you help someone when you don't have a proper system in place to help customers who had issues with their orders.

I gave them my information and asked them to look into this and call me when they find out what happened.

Unless this is rectified, I can't say I'll be a returning customer. Beware if you order a takeout order. Check your food before leaving the restaurant. Get your receipt and if you speak to someone, get their name.

Update I was contacted with a solution and raised my rating from 1 to 3 stars. I'm leaving this review up as hopefully a teachable moment for both sides. Thank you for reaching out and offering...

We went to this restaurant at about 6:00 PM on 7/13/2021. This was the worse service I have ever received. Our waitress with pink dyed hair seemed friendly. She took our order, gave us our drinks. When she came out with our food, I asked her for a refill for my drink. She told me that she would be right back. Well, she never came back with my refill. In fact, she did not even come back to see how our food was. We did not see her until 20 minutes later with the bill for us to pay. Out of 9 of us at our table, 4 of us needed a refill by the end of our meal and this waitress never showed up until the end. The most frustrating thing about it is that there were only 4 tables of customers in this Pine Street Cafe. Now I understand why nobody goes here. There are many better places in Burlington to dine. I will definitely NOT be dining here again.

Dear Owner, it is not the point of "Sorry for not meeting my expectations" like you stated. The point of the matter is, if our waitress says she will be right back to take care of refills, then she should return. Not serve all 9 of us our meals then never come back until she drops the bill off 20 to 30 minutes later. You need to train your employees how to serve correctly. To check back on the tables they are serving and see if anything is needed and how the food is tasting. This blame falls squarely on your shoulders for not training your employee's properly. The server we had stood by a counter and was writing or doodling instead of caring for your customers. I really hope you address this with the young gal with pink tipped hair you have employed with you. Don't try to...
