I recently stumbled upon Kira Asian Bistro during a road trip to Chicago, and it turned out to be a delightful pit stop. From the moment I entered, the ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, with a calm and modern interior that set the stage for a pleasant dining experience.
The service at Kira Asian Bistro was prompt and attentive. The staff was friendly, and my order was taken with efficiency. The menu offered a diverse selection of Asian dishes, ranging from sushi to classic stir-fries. The presentation of the food was visually appealing, and the flavors did not disappoint. Whether it was the freshness of the sushi or the perfectly balanced seasoning in the stir-fry, every dish showcased the culinary skills of the kitchen.
The only hiccup in an otherwise enjoyable experience was the fortune cookie. As I cracked it open with anticipation, the message inside caught me by surprise. It read, "You need to sell your car." Admittedly, it was a quirky and unexpected fortune, but I couldn't help but feel a tad singled out as I happen to drive a 1998 Toyota. While I understood it was all in good fun, and fortune cookies are known for their playful and sometimes cryptic messages, this one seemed oddly specific.
Setting aside the fortune cookie episode, my overall impression of Kira Asian Bistro remains positive. The restaurant successfully combines great food, welcoming ambiance, and attentive service. If you find yourself on a road trip near this hidden gem, I recommend stopping by for a satisfying meal, and who knows, you might just receive a fortune that sparks a conversation or...
Read moreMy bestie and I went for lunch at Kira Asian Bistro a couple weeks ago and usually our food is excellent. This time though, the beef didn't look right in my beef with snow peas. It looked more white, like pork, but didn't taste like pork. It didn't taste like beef very much either. The texture was not normal either. Not a fan of mystery meat. It wasn't the good quality food we usually get. Neither one of us finished our meals and I tossed my left overs, which I always look forward to leftovers later but not this. On the way out, ran into another friend who told me her husband's beef with mushrooms was the same way. So I don't know what's going on with the beef there, but it is not very good right now. I'm turned off and it's sad. That was our monthly lunch spot. Also, the prices keep going up too, which would be fine if the food tasted alright, but not for stuff I ended up tossing out. The service is usually alright and atmosphere is nice too, but until the meat issue is resolved, I am taking a break from Kira...
Read moreThis was our first visit and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, served steaming hot and spicy enough for our tastes. The service was good and the atmosphere fine. We had a Hunan beef and shrimp dish (Human Triple Delight) and chicken yaki udon with green tea. For my part, I enjoyed these Japanese noodles; the veggies were crisp and tasty. Portions were adequate and seating comfortable. For dessert, we shared a fried cheesecake which was a novelty for us. It too was excellent. The final bill was very reasonable. Parking space is more than adequate. We’ll definitely go back. One suggestion to the owners: please include one or two more choices of hot tea. Green tea was fine; a choice of Oolong and one more would be...
