Underwhelming. Place looked like they just opened - the whole place was empty, no one behind the bar that had plywood shelves for the single row of bottom shelf liquors, a single waitress that we saw, cooks watching tv. Ordered the andouille sausage gumbo bowl, expecting a bowl of broth, rice, regular gumbo fixings, and hush puppies - not a tall ask considering the dish...Received a deep dish plate (not a bowl) of undercooked rice, seemingly canned green peppers and onions, chicken(?), sausage, maybe a single ladle of broth/water, and just now am I realizing I didn't get my damn hush puppies! Out of the entire experience, that hurts the most. It's totally on me for not sending it back. But I will say the seasonings and sausage were good. "Jumbo" wings would've only been jumbo in a newborn's hand. Sauces were "meh." Kids' cheeseburger was surprisingly good. Same with the fries. I'm not sure if we had the C team or something considering some of the other pictures posted. Needless to say, it'll take convincing for us to return.

The Mainline restaurant in Burlington Iowa is a place will definitely visit again. Atmosphere was nice and in an older building with a little history. The food was great. Had the chicken/shrimp fettuccine Alfredo myself along with some gumbo. Always love a good gumbo and cajun food so this place hit the spot. Portions were plentiful too. Also being in downtown its close to things within walking distance like the port of Burlington, a few bars, shopping, etc. I liked it.

I honestly didn’t think they was gonna nail it but the Gumbo hands down reminded me of the gumbo I had in Cali 🥴 the hush puppies are home made!! The bruschetta was American not the original Italian way but still tasted great! The chicken and shrimp pasta was worth the money and my son enjoyed the crab legs!! The portions def hit cause I had enough to take home and eat later!!! Will def be enjoying the rest of the menu soon!!

Would give a zero star if I could. My family and I went to the grand opening about a year ago. They didn't have half their menu and we waited over an hour and a half for our food to arrive. Our kids were getting very hungry. We did not expect to be waiting for that long and that's not even counting eating time. Once we finally got our food, it wasn't that good. None of my family finished their plates. We ordered the bruschetta and it was just diced tomatoes and bread. We spent over $100 there and it was definitely not worth even $50 for the quality of food we got. Service was slow. Asked for the pay check and it took them over 30 plus minutes to give us the check and to process the payment, on top of that they lost my card for awhile and didn't know where they placed it. Luckily they found it. Another table next to us were waiting on their bill as well and it was myself and the other gentleman standing there while our families waited in the lobby. My family and I decided to not go back and give them time to see if it gets better.

We came back today almost a year later...and it was almost a repeat expect worse. The restaurant was totally empty and we were the only family there before another couple arrived. Thinking we could get some quick food for us and the three kids. We ordered two cheeseburgers and some catfish and a side. None of that should take that much time to prepare. We sat there for over an hour and a half before the waitress told us it's almost done. Mind you the waitress came out and checked on us 2 times in that entire 1 1/2 hours of waiting. Our drinks were empty. We had no napkins. Our one baby was getting fussy waiting for so long. Turns out they had a problem in the back with a leaking light fixture. It would have been nice to know that, rather then just let us sit waiting and wondering where our food is at. Very unprofessional. We could have came back later if we had known there were problems. We eventually started getting up to leave without food when our waitress finally came out with our meals. We sat down and looked and they messed up both our cheeseburgers. One had everything on it that it wasn't suppose to the other was an entirely wrong cheeseburger. We asked how long it would take to make them right and they couldn't give us answer besides it shouldn't take as long as the first time...you mean the 1 1/2 hours we just had to wait!?. We left without eating after all that time. Absurd, poor service, lack of detail and communication when waiting on customers.

We will never be back to this restaurant again. We tried to give them another chance and they...

2nd time I tried this place. 1st time, we waited near the hostess station with a reservation for 20 min while staff just walked by and continued to say, "someone will be with you shortly". so we finally left. this time, we actually got sat and had service pretty quickly. but that's as far as the positives go. The server was anything but professional and the food was very disappointing. We had bruschetta which was just diced tomatoes on top of smushed garlic bread slices. For entree I had the 1/2 bag of seafood. Shrimp was over cooked and rubbery, sausage was burned from the grill on one side only, potatoes had no seasoning, crab was ok, just very little meat. The garlic butter seasoning was just 3 sticks of melted butter in the bottom of the bag. Party also had fried catfish with fries and hush puppies. fries were cold and mushy, hush puppies dry and bland, catfish was also dry and bland. just an overall disappointing dinner...
