Tickle My Ribs BBQ (TMR) — Restaurant in Burlington

Very disappointed with their lack of care. My apartment complex ordered meals for the residents from there which I submitted mine and my friend across the parking lot submitted his. It was to be delivered between 3-5. At 5:30 I called and talked to nick who got my name and number to call me back in just a few minutes he said to try to figure out why I didn’t receive mine and my friend didn’t receive his. Called back at 6:30 because there was no return call and again got told the same thing this time by a girl. Got my name and number and they were going to have someone call me back right away. By 7:30 I’m livid because not only have I been waiting on food I’ve also been waiting on promises phone calls that are not coming and I’m 9 months pregnant, hungry, and waiting for people who obviously don’t care to communicate. Call back and Nick then tells me that he gave my number to the owner who sent it to my apartment organizer who is obviously not working on a Saturday to call me. That they were out here at 3 and he doesn’t know why I didn’t get food. WHY DIDNT YOU SAY THAT TO BEGIN WITH?!?! It was extremely rude to make me wait for hours on a non existent phone call and refuse to even look at the list that he admitted his owner had to even double check that I wasn’t supposed to get food. I had to call my friend to tell him to order something else and by this time I’m not even hungry anymore because I’m so upset for how I was treated! I went to tickle my ribs in Burlington at 1183 University Dr #101, Burlington, NC 27215 for dinner at 8:10 PM on a Thursday. I have been here many times for lunch and dinner and love it the whole family does. Tonight Thursday 1st July 2021 I took my wife out to eat just the 2 of us which doesn't happen often. When we went in there was no one inside except employees standing around talking. We went up front to order the cashier said "we are only doing to go orders now" I asked why? She said "because we have already cleaned up and we are leaving in 15 min". I said what? The door says you close at 9:00 PM that is in 50 min. She said because of COVID we close early we leave at 8:30 now there is a paper beside the door if you want to go look. I asked to speak to the manager he came out in about 1 min. he came up behind the cook line to talk to me he asked how can he help us. I asked him about the hours he said "yes we are still closing early now but you can get it to go". I said no I was taking her out to eat to our favorite restaurant not sit in the car and eat really!!! Keep in mind all COVID restrictions have been lifted in Burlington for many weeks now. The other establishment owned by the same people Fro Yo they were open they said we stay open until closing time 9:00 pm. I had to take my wife to HWY 55 3 doors down from them. Driving through Burlington stopped by Tickle my Ribs for a quick bite. Bubbly Ginger that took our order was pleasant and helpful. Made appropriate suggestions and answered any questions we had about the food. I ordered the 3 meat plate with the ribs, sliced brisket, and chicken wings. It came with a couple of hush puppies, Mac and cheese and baked beans. My friend ordered the 2 meat plate with Mac and cheese and Brunswick stew for her sides. We go find seating outside to wait. The fella that brings out the food has on NO MASK. We only noticed this bc he was talking over our food as he delivered it to the table trying to sort out who ordered what. Then, to my horror I looked around and noticed that almost none of the kitchen staff had on mask or any kind of protective covering. And neither did that bubbly Ginger. Almost the entire staff was maskless with the exception of a 2 fellas that we saw in the kitchen. What exactly are the safety precautions being put into place by this establishment to protect guests and workers from COVID-19 exposure??? Outside of this, sides were not hot and they messed up my order. Annoying, but easy fixes that were corrected once brought to their attention.
