Reason for 4 star is last paragraph
My wife and I have had to have gotten at least four pepperoni pizza’s in the last couple weeks. Each time they were 5/5, absolutely incredible. This is a tavern-style pizza for those who have not had this before. It is vastly different than any pizza you’ll find in this area.
My wife and I used to live in eastern Indiana. If you’ve ever stayed longer than a week, I’m sure you’ve heard of, “Pizza King”. I’m 100% convinced this is exactly what this is. The logo, the pizza, the motto (“good to the very edge”), the design of the pizza box, the same lamp lighting inside, the “royal feast” pizza with all the same ingredients. It’s all literally the same. It has immediately became our favorite pizza place in this state because of this. The only thing they need to incorporate is the same type of breadsticks, dipping cheese, and the dill butter. If they did this, I might invest haha.
The reason why this isn’t 5 stars is the customer service was quite surprising. The pizza is also fairly expensive compared to the area. A large pepperoni pizza is going to cost about $21. The first time I called to order, they were obviously frustrated, including hanging up when I said I was going to place an order. They also repeatedly interrupted me in-between each sentence saying, “anything else?” in a rude tone. Each time I went inside, the staff just seemed genuinely irritated to be there. I was actually taken aback by this. It does also charge a service charge if you order online. The website says, “daily special”, but it means it’s just the same special everyday. They do not appear to offer any other promotions or deals.
It’s also right next to a self-pour bar and a Culver’s. You can get drunk pizza with some custard. Pretty sweet opportunity...
Read moreThe cashier, Kaleigh S. (?), was very nice, friendly and efficient. It is very nice to see that there are still young folks that know how to make customers feel welcome. The person who brought the pizza to the table was very nice and the service was quick. The store was clean. However: The pizza was no better than cheap frozen pizza. It was cooked perfectly but with the ingredients being chopped into the consistency of ground beef, even perfect cooking didn't help. The pizza was bland. It cost too much for a plain cheese and 3 bucks per ingredient is theft. I hope this place is successful but there were only my son and I and another two people there on a Saturday afternoon. I regret that I will not be going back.
I response to the owner's reply: First, thank you for taking time to reply. However, the pizza I ordered was sausage, pepperoni, and mushroom. Paying 3 bucks each for the toppings plus the basic cost of the pizza just seems a bit extravagant. I have enjoyed the Sir Pizza restaurants down in Asheboro, NC on and off for decades. It has been years since I was there and I was looking forward to having one in my backyard, so to speak. Either my tastes have changed or the ingredients have changed in quality. I am being honest in my assessment of the crust. I'm sure it is made fresh, but, to me, it was equal in quality and taste to a &4 Tony's frozen pizza. I hope your Burlington...
Read moreTerrible service & served with an attitude. "Leslie M." rang us out. Never even raised her head to look us in the eyes or interact to take our order. Never greeted us, never said hello. I asked about wings and instead of answering just pointed at the menu on the counter.
We ordered Sweet chili wings with blue cheese and a cheeseburger pizza. WORST pizza ever. No flavor, tasted like a really cheap frozen pizza. Would be better off if we went to Food Lion and bought a low-end frozen pizza and cooked it ourselves.
Wings, pizza & two drinks - $41.39
Brought the wings & pizza out together. Wings are an appetizer. "Leslie M." brought us ranch instead of blue cheese, which we didn't know until we opened the containers. I walked to the front and kindly asked for blue cheese. She said she needed to charge us for it. (Even though it was her mistake!) She insisted if we wanted blue cheese, like we ordered, we'd need to pay for it. (We just wanted what we ordered!)
Watched another lady wait for pizza. Another employee offered that customer a brownie or dessert (which was the right thing to do) since she waited so long. But yet, we'd need to pay extra to get our...
