From my first glance on the menu, it already was giving the food will be amazing, and it was! Amber was a fantastic server, frequently checking that everything was good. They place a full carafe of filtered water on the table for you. My order came out fast. I had the “Lavender Haze 6” drink, delish! with lavender flavored syrup topped with a beautiful lavender colored carnation and a fresh lemon slice, the Belgian waffle with mixed berry fruit compote; the whipped sweet cream cheese mix they put on top was heavenly 🥰, treated myself to the “Brothers billion dollar bacon 7”, Michigan bacon, and oh, yes ~ it was really good, and the cheese grits were delicious. I prefer my grits without cheese, however these were good. I asked how they cook their bacon, because sometimes I think restaurants overcook it. Amber replied however I would like it cooked. That was nice. I prefer my bacon more soft and not too extra crispy. It was just right. All in all, a fantastic find. I will be a repeat customer for sure!
The restaurant was very clean with a nice atmosphere. My bill totaled $31.80, considering everything I ordered, the price did not seem excessive. With your check they have a laminated card with a QR code so you can leave a review. I usually don’t leave reviews very often because I hate logging into Google. They made it convenient by having the QR code right there, smart marketing on their part. I enjoyed everything so much, so it made seem a bit easier and faster for me to leave a review having the QR code handy.
I did ask if the bacon was uncured, as in no nitrates or nitrites; known carcinogens. Amber checked for me and said the cook told her it’s made fresh, or something like that. So, I didn’t get a yes or no on that, and since it was described as smoked on the menu, it likely contained those ingredients. Yes, ugh, I got it anyways. I don’t have bacon very often at all, so wanted to live a little. The drink with the lavender was really good. I also wondered if the lavender syrup had artificial dye. Sadly, the one Starbucks uses does have a carcinogenic dye. I have found a lavender syrup on Amazon that does not contain a carcinogenic dye. If this establishment currently uses a lavender syrup that does use natural coloring, perhaps they’ll consider replacing it with a different one. They seem to prioritize serving...
Read moreUpdated review: As someone who used to frequent this establishment with my family. It saddens me to have to say, I will no longer come to this restaurant after the unfortunate experience I had recently. I stopped in to treat my sister to a birthday brunch, before I was set to leave town for vacation. The server Cassandra, was extremely rude after bringing me the wrong type of meat I ordered. When I politely requested her to bring the correct item, she argued that it was my mistake, she informed me that she had been working there a month and knows what she’s doing, and left the plate on the table. After 10-15 minutes of me patiently waiting to eat, she returned with what I originally ordered, and stated I would have to pay for both plates of sausage. (The incorrect one she brought me, and the one I actually ordered) I kindly asked to speak to a manager, when she rudely replied that she will “send him over” I waited over 30 minutes and she never notified the manager of anything. Then finally I had to flag her down, as she clearly had no intention on even checking on our table, to ask for the bill and to-go boxes; which she surprisingly, then very promptly returned with. I had my phone out, responding to a client (as I am a business woman who is constantly working, even when I’m not in the office) when she made the condescending, completely unnecessary and smug comment insisting to “make sure you take a picture of that receipt” …confused and appalled as to what she was implying by that statement, I decided to take her advice and do so. I handed her the check book with payment, bagged my items, and proceeded to leave. I seen a gentleman standing at the host station, far too engaged in his phone to notice my presence; After standing there waiting for him to acknowledge me, I asked if he was the manager, which he replied “yes”. I made him aware of the bad experience I had encountered and that a manager never approached or attempted to rectify the situation. Due to the terrible customer service and experience I endured that day, I will take my business elsewhere. If you decide to go here, steer clear of Cassandra as she is extremely rude, unprofessional, condescending, and clearly not fit for a customer service...
Read moreI’ve ate here three times so far this month! The first time was amazing, great waitress, great food(I ordered the BOMBlette with potatoes). The second time the food was good (I ordered the same thing as I did the first) and the waitress was alright, but she could have been a little more attentive. This time I was more than a little disappointed. I ordered a cheese melt, lobster bisque, and a side of the amazing home fries, my boyfriend ordered the Baja tacos and I had a lemonade to drink. I could see my waitress had a large table that she was waiting on with some help from a coworker. I am also a server so I am more than understanding when it comes to being busy. However, I don’t think it’s okay when you leave a table sitting for 5 minutes without a greeting and the first thing you say to them is “are you ready”. The cheese melt wasn’t my cup of tea. My boyfriend was in love with the tacos. The waitress didn’t check on us once since she dropped the food. We took our time, probably around 20 minutes to eat our food and didn’t get checked on at all. We were sat right next to the large party, so it’s not like we were out of sight & out of mind. It truly only takes a minute to walk to your customer, ask how everything is, and continue on with your other tables. Being ignored completely just tells me you’d rather do the bare minimum to make your money. I was hoping to order another drink & maybe get a meal Togo, but I wasn’t waiting any longer for a server that couldn’t spare a minute to see if we were doing alright. I had to go to the front to get my bill and pay because at that point I had waited long enough. An uncaring waitress is what ruined my whole experience. To the management: If you have servers that are waiting on a large party, you should double check that they can handle more tables before seating them. Or at least have someone (or yourself) do a walk around yourself to check on the quality of experience your customers are having. I still tipped 20% because I think it’s wrong to punish servers using their main form of income, however I’m not sure I’ll be back which is very...
