Ate at this place last Sunday. We were visiting relatives in the area and needed to get dinner on the way home. We saw this place and decided to stop in and give it a try. We ended up sitting at a booth and the server was trying to sit us at a table for 9 people (there was only 5 of us; 2 adults and 3 kids). We thought it was odd, but didn't give it another thought. We sat down and ate our food, which we noticed was not very hot. We were getting done with our meal, when I noticed something crawling on the seat, right next to my daughter's head; a COCKROACH. We got the kids out of the seat, and that is when we noticed the divider behind where our kids were sitting had several COCKROACHES crawling all over it. We have never been in a situation like this. We know it's a small town with probably not very many job opportunities, and we didn't want to jeopardize anyone's livelihood. We wanted to give the benefit of the doubt that since they had only reopened not too long ago, that the bugs were a situation they might not have been aware of. We had already finished our meal, and so my husband paid the bill and then took the server aside and informed her on what we observed. We left feeling very grossed out. Well I guess we should have read the reviews first, because apparently this COCKROACH situation was already a known and complained about issue. We even told the relatives we visited in the area about what happened and their reaction was "We could have told you that place had roaches, we won't eat there." In the days since that happened, I have been sent screenshots of other people posting in the local groups for Butler, saying they saw roaches there as well. I'm surprised at this, because most restaurants would get instantly shut down after one report of cockroaches. Does the owner know someone with...

This restaurant is ok. Not the greatest but not the worst Chinese restaurant I've had. This is my 2nd time coming here and it's never really packed which I love. The less of a crowd the better. Plenty of space to park and plenty of tables to sit down at. I would recommend the Egg Foo Yung, the Stuffed Mushrooms and the Panko Fried Shrimp. I feel that the General Tso's Chicken is a bit too rich in flavor, the Orange Chicken is a tad less stronger and the Sesame Chicken seems to have the right balance. Mind you some of these dishes have been sitting on the line for a bit too long but, for what they charge per meal is a bargain. Can't beat $12 bucks. That's a steal really. The nearest Chinese restaurants are south in Nevada and north in Kansas city. Are you that willing to travel that far just for a plate of Chinese? Just don't come with 5 star expectations. Think realistically with the size of butler and it's current population to the size of this restaurant and any nearby competitors. The owner is very kind and polite, she is a sweet lady. I will come again the next time I'm able to spend the...

Witnessed a roach crawl down the buffet and into the plate stack. I never write reviews but had to after this experience. I hate to do harm to someone’s business by leaving negative comments, but there is no excuse for this level of filth. It costs almost nothing to keep a place clean. This was easily the filthiest restaurant I’ve ever been to. Think sticky, sagging carpet, greasy light switch covers, greasy/dirty dishes…AND ROACHES. Not to mention, I literally had to use my phone flashlight to find the men’s room because the flickering hall lights just weren’t enough. We’re not too picky. We stopped mid-meal when the roaches were noticed, paid for our food, left tip, then GTFO. As I am writing this review I’m hoping and praying we don’t end up sick before the day is over. I can’t help but wonder, does Bates County even have a...

First of all, let me start off by saying that it is very hard for me to find a Chinese buffet that I can't find at least a few things worth coming back for. The buffet was configured of colorless, bland foods. The restaurant seemed to be moderately clean, however, it felt like a sauna inside.

Husband ordered sesame shrimp. After eating 4 9f the shrimp he was reaching for a 5th and discovered a roach leg cooked into the shrimp. We also ordered beef, chicken, and shrimp lo mein along with a fried rice. $45 into the garbage.
