IHOP — Restaurant in Cañon City

I went to IHOP for a special night with my husband for dinner and the theater. What a mistake that was! We were greated at around 5:50pm by a women named Kayla M. Who was sloppy at best. Her make-up consisted of poor pale foundation, purple partaly rubbed off lipstick, and dark eyes. Her shirt was slightly hanging out and tucked in and her hair was up but falling out. I thought she was just a trainee because of her lack of presentation and another more professional waitress was next to her though our stay. After being seated we put our order in around 6pm and waited 45 minutes until our food finally arrived a little after I looked at the clock reading 6:44pm. I started to digging into my meal finding out it was half cold. Our wasitress only showed her face a handfull of times for short periods. That being said I didn't want to wait any longer to eat seeing as we were already going to miss the intro to the movie. I mixed the cold parts of the food with some of the warm and ate my food in a little bit of a hurry. We finished our food and asked for boxes (boxES) around 6:51pm. When Kyla M. came back she presented us with one box. I had to re-ask for two boxes as we both still had a lot on our plates that wouldn't all fit in one little black box. After we get the second box we go up to the counter to pay but, there was no one to be found. We stood there until I finally went around to another waitress and told her we had been waiting. We paid at 7:07pm. When I asked our waitress Kayla M. to speak with a manager she rudely made it clean that she WAS the manager. I must be pretty bad when you think the manager is a trainee. I then told her the problems I had and how I had been waiting 45 minutes for our food and 10 mins at the counter just to pay. With a terrible attitude she corrected me and argued that I in fact did not wait that long and she had just given us the check before she came out to cash us out. I had been looking at the lock and timing it the whole meal so, I was aware of how much time was acually spent in between events. I paid for two dinners with drinks. I never knew her name until after I had to paid for a bad time and looked at my recipe. I WON'T be eating here again and neither...

Unimpressed, Disappointed, and Grossed Out. I do not typically write reviews but I hope that the feedback about my experience will be reviewed and taken seriously with action. First an foremost the cleanliness of the establishment and general process of food safety standards needs addressed. The start of concern one silverware roll up had a very dirty spoon, this wasn't of too much concern this happens. To follow, I ordered a steak omelette that had all the fixings, within just the first few bites I found a small black hair that resembled facial hair. At that moment I lost my appetite and informed the server. She quickly offered a replacement which I understanabley denied. Right after she brought the check offering 10% discount off of our entire ticket but not removing the hairy omelette, this was insulting and lacking a bit of common sense. Thankfully she removed the omelette completely after we shared our unsatisfaction with this "solution". After this I had asked for more creamer and to my validation of not wanting more food, we found a second black hair in the bowl that the creamer was provided in.... Please reevaluate your food safety handling with all staff, especially the cooks and servers as clearly there is contamination happening.

Last takeaway about cleanliness or lack there of, looking around the establishment it is clearly understaffed and not well maintained. Booths have drippings down the sides and trash all over with many unbussed tables. The womens bathroom also smelt of sewage...

Another area of concern is the knowledge of the staff about safety items and food being served in general. We asked for a band-aid for my daughter from the server. From there you could hear her yelling asking everyone where the bandaids are and that she doesn't even know. This is highly concerning as everyone in the kitchen should know where the first aid kit is.

Also when asked about some menu items responses I received were yes we have that but it's not very good and I've never tried that to know if it's worth eating.

All in all the experience could have been better in many ways and the establishment needs higher management to come in and evaluate and make some...

Would give NEGATIVE stars if i could. Was sat quickly and drink orders taken. We got our drinks, and order taken. My daughter and I ordered the chicken strip what we got were chicken fingers that were over cooked plus we were both shorted 1 strip. When we brought it to the waitresses attention she had to check the menu like we were lying, and the sorriest side of French fries I have ever seen in my life. It was like they cooked 1order of fries and split them between the 2 orders. You could clearly tell that they water the ranch dipping sauce because I had the consistency of water and had no tast. My wife and son ordered the sampler breakfast the bacon was undercooked the eggs were over cooked. My daughters boyfriend ordered an omlette and it was cold and nasty. My mother in law ordered banana pancakes. The pancakes on all the orders were Luke warm the butter wouldnt even melt. The hash browns were over cooked, our french fries tasted old and were soggy, had to ask for flatware after our food came out and waited 10 min to get it, waitress never came to check on us or to see if we needed refills. The chicken strip (if that's what you want to call them)that we were missing waitress came out 3/4's of the way through the meal and told us she had 2 more in the cooker. We got them when we were getting up to leave AND GUESS WHAT THEY WERE SMALL AND OVER COOKED TOO. By over cooked I mean they were a dark brown and extremely crunchy not a golden brown like they should be. The manager said he had no idea that this was going on, we'll he was nowhere to be found he did take the cheapest 2 meals off the bill, but as management he should be paying attention to what is going on in his restaurant.
