I went for lunch and was a little underwhelmed. The server was nice enough, but she didn't know anything about the food. Every question we asked was answered with "I'm not sure". Not hard questions either... we're talking "what comes on this sandwhich?" The food was also "ok". I had the roast beef panini which is supposed to come dressed with horseradish mayo. When the server brought it to me she asked if I would like the mayo with it. I told her i assumed it came on it bc that is what is on the menu. she told me they stopped putting it on there bc customers didnt like it. Huh?? So I told her I wanted some. By the time she brought it to me my sandwich was getting cold but I was hungry so I ate it. my companion didnt have any mayo on her sandwich either (she ordered the club) so then she had to go back and get her some mayo. Who doesn't put mayo on a club? Shouldn't the sandwiches come to your table as described on the menu? When a manager/owner stopped by (not sure which since he didn't really introduce himself) and asked if everything was ok, I brought this up. He got kinda defensive and told me they started serving mayo on the side bc it squirts out when you cook the panini with it on. What?! I've made paninis at home and have never had this issue and somehow every other place that has paninis makes it work. The whole point of that sandwich is that you get it hot and eat it hot. It's almost impossible to take it apart without damaging the bread since it is all melted together, and then you have to add the cold mayo to the sandwich that you just exposed to cold air and put it back together... releasing all the steam and warmth in the process. It may seem like a little thing, but at lunch you really just want your sandwich properly prepared and quickly. They failed at both. The fries were good but got cold really fast. The whole experience was kinda meh and I prob wont go out of my way to eat there again. Maybe I'll try breakfast sometime bc the reviews for that look...
Read moreJust outstanding breakfast.
I was wanting pancakes but didn’t want to drive to North Little Rock or Conway. I also regularly eat breakfast at another local restaurant and didn’t want their pancakes. I jumped on Google and Peppermill came up. I saw a photo of pancakes and chicken strips and I knew right away I wanted THAT for breakfast.
It wasn’t on the menu, but I let our waitress know I wanted two chicken strips and two pancakes. My wife ordered a breakfast sandwich. We also saw some biscuits and gravy on the plate of another patron and we were tempted into ordering those as well.
We told our waitress, Andi, that it was our first time here and she said, “Well, get ready for a treat.”
Let me tell you, she wasn’t kidding. Everything was just excellent! The chicken strips are some of the cleanest, best tasting strips I’ve ever had and they paired perfectly with the pancakes. The biscuits and gravy were also excellent. My wife reports that she enjoyed her breakfast sandwich and hashbrowns. My coffee was very good also.
We noticed pies and some red velvet cake with cream cheese icing in the restaurant also. I just couldn’t do any more sweets, but my wife ordered two fried pies to go for her and our son.
I’m sorry I didn’t take better pictures before I dug in. I wasn’t expecting to write a review beforehand but after digging in it was just all too good to not say something.
I was honestly intimidated by the name “Peppermill” before I came. I’m not a big fan of pepper. But “pepper” isn’t anything more than just a name. Their food is all excellent and to my tastes.
I wish they were open earlier and later so I would be able to fit more visits into my routine, but I totally understand. I look forward to coming back and bringing...
Read moreFrom the moment my husband and I walked in the first time we were stared at and given subpar service. We figured maybe they were just understaffed, and maybe we were overreacting. I figured I’d give them another chance however when we went again yesterday, we noticed they were being very friendly with other tables and we were treated quite differently. The waitress seemed unhappy to be attending to us. My husband is african american and I am hispanic, however I didn’t want to assume this is what was happening to us, however when I see here that other people of color are experiencing the same thing at this location we’re now starting to believe we aren’t crazy. It is a true shame that this restaurant makes people of color feel so uncomfortable as soon as they walk through the door. I would suggest that if you are appalled at this type of behavior from any institution, that you not support this locale. In order to create change we have to stand with those who are still being gaslighted...
