Edited to add:: Please note the owner response, in addition if in doubt; I encourage everyone to view the other similar reviews, including the “Owner” responses to those as well. To pass the buck, speaks for itself. We did NOT eat anywhere else that day & have been on liquids ever since. That stated; we will simply turn over all receipts, medical records and any further relating evidence to the health board & bank based upon the highly disappointing response. 2words: FOOD POISONING!!!!!! We dined in on Sunday evening shortly after opening as we were traveling through the area, we had high hopes after viewing the menu beforehand & based off of our knowledge of the Angus restaurant in S. Myrtle (don’t know if they’re affiliated) We were a party of 5, 3 ordered the surf & turf, 1 ordered one of the steak entrees and the other ordered a salad with potato skins. This was in addition to the appetizers we ordered for the table. Once the food was received we immediately knew we made a poor choice, however not being the type to complain we decided to let it go at the time & accept we just simply wouldn’t recommend nor return. Ribs were horrible (pretty certain they were the precooked, thrown in a microwave version like you can get out your local grocer that come in a vacuum sealed pouch), corn had 0 salt/butter & was completely inedible as if it were thawed from the freezer but never cooked (both my son & I left it untouched on our plates after first bite) , steak seemed okay visually however also 0 flavor with lots of gristle. Our son left 3/4 of his NY strip untouched, this should have been yet another red flag for us. Our bill was close to $250 , again while extremely upset we agreed to just take the loss. We spent $25-30 just on our 5 sweet teas btw 😳 . This shocked us beyond belief as we frequent fine, dining restaurants quite regularly, and the pricing here seem to be quite deceptive with subpar microwave food Yet a bill that exceeded what we would spend at some of our regular five star restaurants. There only appeared to be one server responsible for all tables at the time , mind you We arrived shortly after opening, and the restaurant was completely empty. Therefore, we felt there was no excuse for the quality of food we received as they were not even busy. Going forward, we know to take that as a sign not to eat and find a different place. Fast-forward to a couple hours later once we were long gone, everyone in our party began to get sick, prompting vomiting/Diarrhea/nausea. Given there have been bouts of sicknesses going around we still gave it the benefit of the doubt however, as the evening progressed everyone’s condition, continue to decline, including our daughter, whom has kidney disease & awaiting transplant so at this point, we became extremely concerned as she was violently shaking. Upon returning home we had no choice but to visit the ER , at which time it was confirmed we had a horrible bout of food poisoning. 4 out of the 5 in our party were affected (only the person who ordered salad and potato skins was spared) . It is now 3 days later and we are STILL sick!!! To the extent work has been missed , doctor bills have accrued and we have not been able to eat a single thing since we left the restaurant. I somehow missed the negative reviews regarding similar incidents before our visit as you have to filter and dig for them on Google. It appears that this may be a repetitive thing That swept under the rug by management. We have never left a negative review of this sort for any establishment, we have never requested refunds, make a fuss etc HOWEVER We have also never acquired food poisoning from anywhere we visited as patrons. After seeing “owner” responses to other similar reviews I’m certain this will not be addressed appropriately therefore we will ensure every course of action possible is taken on our end as this is not only concerning but placed our daughter in a potentially life threatening situation. Mind you, we are all still violently ill with what feels like no end in site. DO...

Tonight was disastrous for a great team of ladies just out to enjoy a delicious steak and seafood meal. We booked ahead for 17 ladies and arrived on time promptly at 7pm . We were seated and waited for drinks to be prepared before we ordered. One hour later, we had our drinks and cheesy biscuits and our orders were taken. There was a very light crowd and we were given just 1 waiter who promptly put the orders in. We waited another half hour for salads and then another half hour for the food to finally arrive . Things were seeming to go well with delivery until ribeyes became sirloin and filet minion become ribeyes. Vegetables not on plates that should have been and then more to top it off 2 meals never made it to the table. Obrian our very patient and courteous waiters and handled the oversight well and said I know the orders went back right. Oh my goodness, our happy laughter stopped. The food was about 60% right with several returns to correct steak temperatures, we added vegetables from each others plates as to see that we got the correct food. The floor manager passed or table several times and never asked until the complete failure that became dissatisfied customers. We had been looking for the meal and fellowship all day. And yes, many went without eating lunch and breakfast even due to the excitement. The floor manager made nothing right. She said we were not on time. Courtney confirmed the 7pm reservation with me around 3:30 and I checked in personally with the floor manager at 7 pm who said oh, you are the party of 17. She even took time to ask where we lived and what was the jewelry that we all adorned. Yes, thanks Cyna’s in Pembroke NC. We had 2 ladies who got food at 9:45 and didn’t even have a chance to eat it. Why? Why? Why? Where was the floor manager all night. Walking back and forth by us and never stopping to see why we weren’t eating 2 hours into our drink order. We were trying to be patient and many had dined here before hence why we choose this spot for our retreat dinner. Such a disappointment across the faces of most of the 17 women’s faces. Ultimately, Ishe said I’m sorry. Sorry but Angus should be ashamed and should know that these ladies are outstanding community members and a dedicated ministry who help school systems in a 15 + system with a yearly fundraiser that has been a blessing to so many of our children. They are teachers, professional administrators, medical office workers, retired educators, and a fun lovely bunch. We entertained our frustrations with dancing, TikTok, FaceTime, and chat about how disappointed we were that a 2 hour outing took short of 4 hours. We didn’t even get to go play BINGO. The apology was short and not genuine. And no amount of apologies or reduction for the poor service from management could have made this a better outcome. What a truly pathetic and...

My husband and I had our first (of many to come) visit to Angus Steakhouse and Seafood on one of the busiest nights of the year. On Feb 14, 2024, hubby and I enjoyed a delicious meal and great service. We had not been to that building since August 2021 when it was a seafood restaurant. We were delighted to drive up and see the outside lit in strings of multicolor and white lights. Tastefully done it drew us in (after an ussie, of course!) The interior of the restaurant is large and decorated beautifully. I especially liked the brick wall mural rafter that separates the upper and lower dining areas. The booths by the windows overlook the Calabash River. And they have a gorgeous outside dining area. Tina was out waitress and she was warm, helpful and very attentive from the moment she introduced herself. The menu offers fantastic variety as does the beer, wine and mixed drinks menu. They also have many seafood options. My margarita was refreshing, and hubby commented on his cold beer several times. Hubby planned to order chili as a side, but when we told Tina he could not eat spicy food she brought him a cup of soup to sample. It was meaty and delicious with a bit of fire. If you like a chunky spicy chili you’ll really like their chili. Since it was Valentine’s Day, there was a young woman walking around and gifting each woman with a beautiful peach-color long stem rose.

They give a starter of cheddar and chive biscuits with a side of butter. DELISH!!! We each ordered a drink, appetizer and entree. I got the stuffed jalapeños. They were HUGE. Stuffed with potatoes and cheese they were different but very good. I ate one and took the remaining home. Hubby had the calamari and said it was done perfectly. I ordered ribeye and hubby a sirloin. Wow! My ribeye was SO TENDER and flavorful. Hubby said his sirloin was very good as well. Tina brought each course out in perfect timing and kept our tea glasses full. The hostess, Martha, came by to chat and was a delight to meet! They surprised us with a complimentary dessert of their chocolate cake….it was moist, not overly sweet and delicious! Of course we had to take it home since we were stuffed from our meal! In fact, the portions were large we each had half a steak and half our sides plus over half our appetizers to take home! Pricing is typical for the area and type of restaurant. A lot of food at a fair price. The appetizer prizes lower than most places. When they first opened reviews were mixed. The reviews we’ve seen on social media over the last year have been very good. If you tried Angus and left dissatisfied, please give them another try. If you’ve never been, this is a restaurant to add on your list and get there soon. That way you can return sooner...
