Decided to leave a review to add to the reviews of everyone else saying the same thing. We had this brought to us for lunch about a week ago and I had ordered a sandwich with no turkey. I’m pregnant and cold deli meat isn’t recommended during pregnancy, but also I just don’t really like meat in general right now. The turkey club sounded good other than the turkey, but everything else on the sandwich sounded good. The family who dropped it off mentioned nothing of any issues with getting the turkey removed. The sandwich was honestly amazing. It sounded super good again so my husband went to pick us up lunch there. He was told you can’t add or remove any of the ingredients. They literally make the sandwich in front of you. It’s not like they’re premade. They have a paying customer just asking to not have something on a sandwich and he had a lot of back and forth saying we have had the sandwich like this before. The man reluctantly agreed to do it, but he did the same thing with dressing to someone else in line. I’ve never been somewhere that unless something was pre mixed or premade that didn’t allow a customer to modify the food that they’ll be eating. Especially for a place that’s been open a very short time you’d think they’d want to grow a customer base, but based on the other reviews I guess that’s not the case. It’s a bummer, because the food is good. They are just literally the only place I’ve ever been that doesn’t allow simple modifications to a meal and I consider that to be really poor customer service and you’ll lose people that way if their options are limited to the exact things on the menu when someone may have a medical reason or just preference for a certain item to not be on their food. We won’t be going...
Read moreWe were excited to try this place for the first time. At first, the food was great. Then when my boyfriend got to the second half of his sandwich, he bit into a piece of tomato that had half of a snapped toothpick lodged inside of it and he had to pull it out of his mouth to see what it was. When he pulled out the toothpick we were a bit taken back, especially because that half of the sandwich that it came from had a whole toothpick in it while the other half of his sandwich had the top half of the broken toothpick in it. I’m guessing when they pushed it into the sandwich they snapped it, pulled it out, and didn’t bother to look for the broken piece or something. I let the people behind the counter know that he had bit into a toothpick, and the guy working the counter with the pennywise hoodie said “yeah there’s toothpicks in there” as if my boyfriend bit into the toothpick while it was vertical in the sandwich and broke it himself like an animal or something. Anyways, they didn’t really care or bother to even apologize to us for it and tried to make it seem like it was our fault instead of them not them paying attention to how they’re putting their sandwiches together. They basically brushed us off and that was it. We would have liked to maybe make this spot more regular as the food was good, but that service really turned us off from the place and now if we do go back, we’ll have to examine our sandwiches for broken toothpicks so that nobody gets stabbed in the mouth again. Pretty dissatisfied with the service when it came to that, especially because when I had mentioned it, there was nobody in line and it was not busy so they could have handled it better...
Read moreThis place is off the chain incredible! First time to eat there today and this was the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Fat Guys was recommended to me and forewarned me that there are no substitutions. I have a high respect for that. I’ve been reading a lot of the reviews left here, medical reasons are completely understandable. But if it’s because you just don’t like something, pick another option, there’s plenty. Everyone needs to go in with an open mind and try something new, it’ll help you as a person. I agree that whoever that Sara person was shouldn’t have been vaping of any kind around the food or inside the restaurant at all. That is a huge health hazard. I would have called the health department as well. Good news, she wasn’t there today to my knowledge.
Cowboy is an amazing person who definitely loves his job and is a people person. Everyone who was working today was very kind, polite and professional. I truly hope that the people who gave a horrible review decide to try Fat Guys out again now knowing what to expect. Subway has the same prices basically and they are horrible. They used to be my favorite until today.
I find it absolutely hilarious that I had to sign the floor of shame because I couldn’t finish my sandwich. I’m actually proud that I got to sign the floor of shame! I had the Italian. Best sandwich ever. The sandwiches are enormous! It’s a fun, light atmosphere and extremely clean. This place is an out of the box restaurant with character. I cant wait until my family and I go back to try another one of the fantastic creations. Thank you Fat Guys!!! I’ll be honored to sign the floor of shame...
