Four Tines Restaurant at the Surrey — Restaurant in Caldwell

We stopped in for lunch, passing through Caldwell. It was really good for a buffet.

The only reason I gave 4 stars on the food was because they used instant mash potatoes. They make the lightest , richest sheet cakes for dessert but use instant potatoes? Who does that?

I didn't get any pictures because the ones on the website are true, and it would just be another picture.

The chicken fried steak was real steak, fried shrimp, and not fried to a gumball. It was very tender and good. They had pretty good chicken spaghetti, their veges were really good. Fried okra, squash, delicious greens, and the best pintos I have tasted in a restaurant. The tea was very good. We drank half and half because it was a little sweet but took some to go.

I would stop again. Hopefully, the word will get out, and they will spend a little more on the MASHED POTATOES.

When we first arrived folks just looked at us as if we were aliens. When we went to a table that would accommodate our party it was dirty. So we waited till it could be cleaned. The waitress looked at us as she walked towards us but, stopped at another table and ignored us. When she saw the look on my face she said she would be over to clean the table. This has the best food I have ever had eating out , the fish is farm fed, not off the bottom of the lake,so it's better then cod fish ,I'm not a fan of fish ,but I can't get enough of this fish , service is fast and it's Buffet so line moves fast ,you serve your self. ,Wait staff is friendly ,and tends to your needs quick . The owner is awesome ,loves his customers , he has many repeat customers. Plenty of seating .
