Mocha Lisa — Restaurant in Caledonia

One of the main reasons I come back to Mocha Lisa is the great service, and the friendly baristas. I can get coffee or other beverages anywhere, but I certainly can't get the kind of service that I get here at other places. There is a real passion for what they do, which shows in the quality of beverage that you get here. Despite long lines on some days (like Sunday), the patrons all wait patiently because they know that when it's their turn, they get treated really well. That's the kind of thing you can't get at a big chain place.

Aside from that, the beverages are delicious. I'm not a coffee drinker myself but even I have ventured into trying their mochas, and specialty drinks. I particularly like the London Fog that one of the baristas make for me.

The shop is filled with incredible art, jewellery from local artisans, and other home decor items that you can purchase. It's a cozy little cottage that provides comfortable seating, and free WiFi. If I wasn't always working, I'd venture to just hang out there, smell the brewing coffee, and read.

I visited around noon on 10/18/2020 to pickup an ice coffee. As the barista was preparing it I noticed a packaged banana walnut bread slice, sounded tasty so I ordered that as well. I looked around this converted former home and realized that it's just as much a gift shop as a coffee shop. I paid for my coffee and banana bread and headed to my destination 45 miles away. Once on the road I tasted the coffee and was disappointed. I expected a higher quality, better taste coffee from a coffee shop. This ice coffee was not much better than what I could have gotten at the Arches. The "banana bread" was most likely mislabeled. It did have walnuts but absolutely no banana flavor. If this had been a blind taste test I would swear it was an old fashioned brown bread with walnuts. The service was quick and friendly but the product is not begging me...
