This place is the definition of homemade mexican cooking. It's like a hole in the wall place. You'll never know it's there but glad you do. Oddly enough their signature dish birria isnt my favorite but my parents swear by it. Everything else is amazing. Also this isnt some millennial place where you can order by phone and have food waiting, or expect uber or postmates whatever. Come here order here and eat here. Absolutely delicious! Birriería Cárdenas has hands down the best birria I’ve ever had — rich, flavorful, and perfectly tender. The handmade tortillas take everything to another level — fresh, soft, and just the right touch of home-cooked goodness. And the sweetest part of it all? I went on a Thursday afternoon around 1pm. I ordered the goat birria in the bowl. It comes with onions,cilantro,hot sauce, lemons, and homemade tortillas. The soup was extremely hot temperature wise. The meat was overcooked, and the pieces they gave were slim. The total cost was $17.70 plus tax and gratuity. The area is not the best place.
