Camp Richardson General Store & Cafe — Restaurant in California

Sometimes the best experiences in life happen unplanned. We stumbled across the general store while being out and about on a Sunday afternoon. We only wanted a hot chocolate with whip cream, but we also saw this beautiful homemade apple pie sitting in the pastry case.

Buck, the manager admitted to making the pie himself, so we couldn’t resist trying it by their cute and warm fireplace in the store.

Great service, home-like coziness and great food (the BLT was perfect also).

We stopped in at this little store simply because of the sign saying, "breakfast, and lunch". I would say it was a pleasant surprise. It is a nice little store for campers, a gift shop, and a deli that cooks a few items. My wife and I both had breakfast, and were very happy with our choices. I have read other reviews,(on another site) complaining of prices. All I can say, is that for the Lake Tahoe area, there was nothing unusual about the breakfast prices, and if we get into the area...

Do NOT go here! Huge problem with Rats in the walk ins. I worked in the warehouse for a month. Everyday the rats get into the bread and leave dropplings. Alot of expired goods as well that they refused to throw away and use. Expired honey from 2019 that was crusty, discolored, and not appealing. Frozen nasty cinnamon rolls and cheap nasty products that I would NEVER eat. Please take my word. It was a horrible place to work with...
