Completely overrated, the majority of the staff are super friendly but like anywhere there are always a couple of flakes. My personal experience was started off good we were seated then received our drinks which were huge always a plus, then it went down hill from there. We ordered our food and waited, when it came one order was good the other one was the wrong omlette completely it had sausage and she has food allergies to certain spices. My food came and we were asked if we needed anything else, I asked for Tabasco and she said she'd be right back with it. My chicken fried steak was fried hard as a rock but a rock has more flavor, the hash browns were burnt on the outside and Luke warm in the middle. I got tired of waiting for the Tabasco went to get it myself and had to find a different server to replace the wrong omlette. She found our server and she replaced the omlette ( after more waiting of course ) I told her I didn't need the Tabasco anymore that I had helped myself she looked at me with no clue to what I was speaking about. Bye the time she received her new omlette I was finishing my burnt runny eggs and bacon and one bite of chicken fried steak. All the while my other guest with the correct order had finished her meal already. The replacement omlette was about a third eaten and she was done. I paid the bill but we were not even asked if we enjoyed our meal. All I hear is how great this place is, me and my two companions will never go back again. Just for your information we went on Sunday about 9:30 and the one star is for the blond server and...
Read moreHad my first experience at Cope's Knotty Pine Cafe this morning. We drove up to a crowded parking lot, a testimony to this little dive's local popularity. The atmosphere and friendliness of the staff was an immediate standout. The menu provided an extensive selection of country favorites. I opted for a Western omelet with hash browns and a biscuit with gravy. While our server was totally friendly and attentive, the kitchen's service time was really pretty slow for a two-top ordering breakfast standards. Our breakfast arrived at the table in a customary presentation. My food was quite tasty, however it did not stand out as exceptional. The eggs in my omelet were overdone, while the hash browns were not cooked enough. The biscuit was huge, beautiful, and tasty, but didn't have the characteristic light fluffy consistency. For someone coming to Bakersfield from Tennessee, the gravy was probably the biggest let down. Again, while tasty, it did taste canned and almost identical to that served by the Cracker Barrel chain. Though I wasn't overly impressed with the food quality, the Knotty Pine Cafe had room for improvement and I will certainly give them...
Read moreDefinitely a place to visit, highly recommend it. However if I say too much won't be a surprise. My girl and I were on the way back home, she was searching for a place to grab a bite and after checking for quite some time she decided to try this cafe. Once we arrived the workers are so kind, treat people with a smile. We felt a very warm welcome from the people. My girl ordered a salad with egg, turkey and ham I believe, I went for the eggs Benedict. To our big surprise the portions are more than decent and for the price more than Worth it. As we usually share dishes this was more than enough . The eggs Benedict are super delicious. However I was recommended by this nice cashier girl to get the eggs Benedict with fry egg, something new ,I missed that part from the menu, however if we are ever around I'll definitely order same dish with fry eggs. Well and for dessert we had the Black berry pie with ice cream, so delicious. Thank you everyone for the hard work, kindness and delicious food . Highly...
