I’ve been coming to frosty King now for over six years going on seven. It is one of our most favorite spots as a family to stop and dine and get away from the hustle and bustle of making food at home. It is within the last six months than a new employee, Angela has began working and singled me out through the drive-through several times . This last time through the drive-through she was very nice. However, I noticed my pink lemonade Was a little watered down, so I turned back to see if I could have it refilled. I stopped and parked the car , And when I went inside, there were about seven people in front of me, but she looked right at me and said can I help you with an aggressive attitude as I was holding my three-year-old child. I said yes please I’m sorry I was just in the drive-through. I wanted to know if I can get a refill on my pink lemonade. It is watered down and I wanted to know what the price was with tax on my meal. She went to the back to wash out my cup in the dirty bathroom instead of giving me a refill so I asked her co worker to refill my cup so I could leave with my daughter. After me waiting at the counter for 5 minutes. An off-duty cop as well as seven other people were in there, and I while I was waiting and observed the entire thing. She approached her associate and asked her what she was doing with the lemonade that for me and she said yes it was. She said oh I was just in the back getting her a new one ;when the lemonade machine was in the front my heart sink, knowing that she was in the dirty bathroom washing out my cup. Barf ! I proceeded to say thank you to the gal that got me my new lemonade and left and said merry Christmas and nothing more. I decided to give the store a call and asked to speak to the store manager and owner and she refused to give me their telephone number, and or name however; Angela proceeded to call me back and harass me on my personal phone number several times . I will still continue to go to Frosty King however, the harassment needs to stop by Miss Angela. I hope I make myself clear and addressing the issue if it’s just me; I don’t know a single sou in this town. Kindness is free and I’m kind of everyone unless ;I need to have a strong boundary with you ! Or Anyone it is what healthy people do. I will continue to monitor this if Angela continues to harass me as she was not needed to call me back because the conversation was not for her I will...
Read moreI thought people should know. We just went through frosty king and purchased two large ice cream cones, and a tiny tiny baby cone with only about a teaspoon of soft serve on it (we have a 3 year old that is sensitive to sugar). On the order board at the drive through it says large cones are 1.99, regulars are 1.79 when i get up to the window i was handed the baby cone then charged almost 8.00 for the three cones.. which i didnt think too much on .. until I was handed the first cone. it wasnt a large and only had a little soft serve.. maybe 3 inches over the cone? so i mentioned it looked pretty small for a large, and was told they no longer have larges.. okay.. so how much was i charged for the smaller cone? 2.49 what? it say on the order board 1.99 for a large cone, so why so much for this much smaller one? well the explanation is this was a regular, there is a smaller one for less.. and the baby come counts as a small.. huh? beware. prices on board are not what they are charging. I talked to the manager and he just shrugged and said it is what it is.. so i told him i would not be returning. that is wrong and its a false advertising.. and way overpriced. I will take my kids somewhere else for a cone from now on.. like baskin robbins for real ice cream,. for a lower price and not a stale cone with overpriced softserve. my daughter says all their prices have gone up. but the board is not reflecting that outside. there used to be very good food here, generous sizes, even though the staff (owners and...
Read moreI've been in town two weeks (after spending most of my 66 years living next to LAX) and being accustomed to pretty much getting any kind of meal at anytime.
I'm still getting used to a "smaller town feel." My options are miniscule in comparison.
I'm happy to say that I've found a winner in Frostie King. I will be a regular customer. As I leave town, I have to fight the handlebars (from my HD) because the bike wants to pull in.
Most places flop when it comes to naff. I'm used to Johnny's in Culver City (they are the benchmark for me). FK's price is more in line with sanity and I like the taste.
The onion rings are popular and were unlike anything I had before. A thicker badder and deep fried longer. I liked then also.
As evidence that I enjoyed the food, I had bought food and drink for my wife and I, but I had to have a quick "sample" before I made it home.
Luckily for me my wife didn't know I had...
