Butcher Shop — Local services in Tehachapi

Used to be my go-to place. I always got my Christmas prime rib I love the steaks and the specialty hamburger patties the 50/50 burger is the bomb I think that is what they call it it's a mixture of bacon and beef.. I had my first incident when I went in 15 minutes prior to closing to pick up some hamburger patties. "Sorry we are closed". Okay I let it go seemed odd but ok. Then this Christmas time I asked about getting some marrow bones in an emai, I was told they would not have any until after the first of the year. I reply okay please contact me when you get some in. I never heard back. I asked about it again in February and asked if I needed to go down to Bakersfield to get my meat and marrow bones. Crickets no reply. Several times a year, I come to town to put on a lunch for our workers in the area who have had an exceptional performance year. Being blue-collar manly men, their meal of choice is almost always a steak barbecue, to which I am happy to oblige. My go-to for meats has been The Butcher Shop for several years. They are always friendly and take the time to understand what I am looking for, and are quick to provide recommendations if I am unsure. They have provided samples in the past when I was hesitant to try new things (like the spicy sausages). The meat itself is high quality, with the steaks being thick cut and tender. I've never had any quality issues, and the customer service is always top notch. They will be my go-to for as long as they remain...

An absolutely stellar, true and original Butcher Shop. It's an, at least, monthly stop for a healthy Ribeye and marrow bones for the puppy. Sure, the meat is slightly more expensive than the other two grocery stores in town. Yet, the quality you get far exceeds that of the two grocery stores. And the selection available at the Butcher Shop is amazing.

And now that they have their Baskets (Essentials, Lean, Good for Grillin' and Smoking's a Good Habit), it's the only place locally that I am buying my meats. Matter of fact, just picked up the Lean Basket and substituting two items was done...
