This was the 2nd time we have eaten here. The first time was a couple of years ago and was fantastic. We were excited to come back. However we spent most of our experience just waiting for anyone to come to our table. The wait between āseating ourselvesā per instruction from the front of house, to waiting for a server, to our food, to a second round of drinks was ridiculous. When the food finally did arrive it was luke warm at best. You could tell the dishes had been sitting out for a while; the sauces had started to develop a slight film. One dish we ordered was $75 alone and for that to arrive almost cold is outrageous! For that price you would expect the quality to be exceptional. The dishes tasted good otherwise, apart from the chicken fingers my daughter ordered which were just a breaded chicken fillet cut into slices and tasted really odd. She wouldnāt eat them. One cocktail we ordered we asked for a double shot and they literally charged us double the cocktail price which Iāve never experienced elsewhere. Server offered semi-sincere apologies for wait times but honestly for the amount of time we waited and that āforgotten aboutā feeling; I expected maybe a more sincere apology, a free dessert or a discount ⦠or something. We even had to go to the front to pay our check because nobody came to our table for that! We donāt blame the server necessarily - it was busy and it looked like she was the only server there and on a Friday afternoon/evening of all times. Overall I just feel like we were scammed out of $260 for a bad experience and am...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall, disappointing. The decor and design was attractive and comfortable, with attractive lighting, comfortable seating, scenic murals, and a fountain in the center the dining room... kind of fun. The service staff was friendly, patient, and helpful, if not seemingly a little young and inexperienced. The food, however, left a fair amount to be desired. The hardest part was just getting over the menu: the four star prices did not match the three star descriptions... nothing stood out at me that I really wanted to try. The rather regular dinner rolls on the table were warmed and served with marinara... an attempt at a creative combo that just didn't quite work. The breaded eggplant appetizer with mozzarella and marinara was ordered with high hopes, but was served slightly al dente with no mention of tomato and tasting overtly of butter. My wife ordered the veal amaretto, which was again a unique combo attempt with great possibility that failed to follow through: the plated vegetables were very nice, and veal was excellently prepared, but the amaretto reduction was a salty, tomato let down. I played it safe, and ordered the Kobe beef burger, which was moderately priced and very well prepared... recommended. The restaurant ends up feeling more like a small town Olive Garden than authentic Italian. Great bar, nice atmosphere, good for the family, but it just left me feeling like I overpaid the...
Read moreEver since my fiancée and I moved into the Fallbrook area, we've been looking for a nice wine bar to patronize and I think Fresco fits the bill. The first thing that caught our eyes was the ambiance. It's so quaint and traditional, so it gave us a welcomed warm and homie feeling. The layout is perfect for big dining groups or quiet couples in a booth. The paintings and wallpaper complete the feel of being in old-town Italy. I feel the decor really makes this place special. There is usually some nice world-lounge music playing and they even support local artists and have them come play Live on certain days! The service is top-notch and we are always welcomed with warm smiles and waited on attentively. The food has always been great and the menu is very versatile. We especially appreciate the gluten-free options and the ability to customize certain dishes to our preferences. Oh! and the wine... Ah yes, the wine. ;) Overall, we really appreciate this gem located amidst the vastness of Bonsall and its proximity to Fallbrook is most...
