We were heading to Oceanside Beach and we stopped at the subway at 5523 Mission Rd, Suite D, Bonsall, CA. We headed there, for the $6.99 foot-long offer. Upon entering, we began a conversation with Kele, the owner, or franchisee as called herself. She seemed very friendly. Not being a computer savvy guy, I asked if we could forgo the online order and I showed her the offer I received via email. She stated that we definitely needed to go online to redeem that offer, order for the company to get our “data”. Points for honesty. For whatever reason, she offered free cookies, if we ordered online.
I followed her advice and went online, ordering two sandwiches, purchasing two gift cards. The first one went through with no problem and the second one seemd to have an issue. Kele came out from the back office where she was trying to finish her payroll and she immediately barked at us saying “If you had just followed my directions and gone online, everything would be fine. Now you’re trying to rip me off. Enjoy your cookies. I told you what to do.” I tried explaining we were doing this online, but it fell on deaf ears. Once she was done berating us, she stormed back into her office.
First, we never asked for, nor received cookies and secondly, I did everything I could to order the sandwiches online as instructed. Two of her employees witnessed my attempts to get this accomplished, so not sure why she would come out of her office and verbally attack us the way she did? Perhaps she was just frazzled from trying to get her payroll done? Certainly willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. An owner is the last person that should be rude and confrontational. One might expect that from a 16-year-old trainee, but not from someone who owns the business. Her goal should be to give the best customer service possible, in a time when “customer service” is going the way of the dodo bird.
Needless to say, we’ll seek another Subway to patronize in the future. Peace be...

I’ve been here many times when it’s packed with cranky parents wanting sandwiches for the local school picnic and she and the rest of the staff are on it.
