Nestled in the heart of Nipomo, Jacoâs Steakhouse is a culinary gem that delivers an exceptional dining experience for anyone who appreciates premium cuts of meat and flavorful dishes crafted with care. From the moment you walk in, the cozy yet upscale ambiance sets the tone for an unforgettable meal.
We started our evening with the Laguna Sausage Appetizer, a hearty and flavorful dish that offered just the right balance of spice and smoky goodness. The sausage was perfectly cooked, with a crisp exterior and a juicy, tender interior that left us wanting more. Itâs the kind of appetizer that sets the stage for the main event.
For the entrĂŠes, the Spencer Ribeye stole the show. This perfectly marbled steak was cooked to perfectionâcrispy on the outside with a tender, juicy center. Each bite was rich, buttery, and satisfying. The flavor of the ribeye spoke volumes about the quality of the meat Jacoâs uses, making it a must-try for steak lovers.
The Pork Ribs were another standout. Smoked to perfection and glazed with a tangy, slightly sweet sauce, the ribs practically fell off the bone. They were meaty and packed with flavor, perfect for anyone craving a hearty dish with a touch of barbecue charm.
Finally, the pièce de rÊsistance: the Filet Mignon. This cut of beef was so tender it practically melted in your mouth. Paired with a subtle seasoning that allowed the natural flavor of the meat to shine, it was truly a masterclass in simplicity and execution.
Service at Jacoâs was attentive and friendly, with staff ensuring that every detail of our experience was spot-on. The wine list and drink menu complemented the meal beautifully, offering a variety of options to suit any palate.
In a town full of dining options, Jacoâs Steakhouse stands out as a destination for high-quality meats and a menu that showcases expertise and passion. Whether youâre celebrating a special occasion or simply indulging in a top-tier meal, Jacoâs is well worth the visit.

Read moreThis spot is highly recommended so of course we had to stop in. The prices here are high but they include several waves of food: crackers and salsa (not impressed), pre-dressed salad (the dressing to greens ratio was on the soupy side), your entree (I'll get to that), a side of beans (these were delicious, albeit salty) and ice cream (I had spumante, which was delicious). There was also the option for garlic bread, which we took, and that was amazing.
But let's get to the literal meat of this. We didn't come here for the sides. We split three entrees:
The Spencer, at 16 ounces, was perfectly done at medium rare. The dry aging lead to a buttery, tender steak and the sear was crisp. It was seasoned perfectly and the red oak flavor made for the perfect compliment to the rub.
The steak sandwich was essentially a ribeye on garlic bread. Decadent and delicious overkill, with the same kudos we gave the Spencer.
We had a half rack of pork ribs which were incredibly tender and the portion was huge. We found then to be slightly over salted, but not intolerably so. Mostly the feeling was that the salt overshadowed the smokiness, but it wasn't a deal breaker for finishing the plate.
It's worth noting that each dish came with a heap of fries, and said fries were absolutely perfect. Hot, crispy, and perfectly salted. It's also worth pointing out that our server was really good. We arrived about an hour before closing, she was prompt and attentive, and when we apologized for cutting it so close to closing she was absolutely gracious.
Overall this was a really good experience and I recommend this spot. I love steak houses. And I'm not adverse to decadence. But a lot of this was over the top and unneeded, and I'd have preferred a la carte options and not a one-price-for-all-the-things approach. That and the few things that were slightly off - sub-par crackers, swimming salad and a slightly over salted rack of ribs - brought this...
Read moreWe came to try out this place which was recommended by some friends. We had a 8pm reservation and did NOT get seated until 30 minutes later. Once we were seated, the server brought out a Dish of pickles, butter with assorted crackers, some of the crackers were stale and old tasting. A while later out came our salads that looked like it came out of a store bought bagged salad mix. The ranch dressing was so watered down it poured out like water onto the salads. We were very disappointed by this. We ordered the pork chop with a baked potatoe and the 10oz ribeye steak with a baked potatoe, which I asked for it to be cooked well done, when the server brought it to me it was so Bloody and I could NOT eat it this way. My husband had to wait over 20 minutes before our sever Jake came to our table, he was engaged in a deep conversation with the couple behind us, that he never came back to check back on us, which really upset us both, especially since we came to Celebrate our Anniversary here. Jake finally walked close enough to us that my husband was able to inform him about my raw steak. 20 more minutes passed and Yet again Jake had to be hunted down to bring back my Steak, at this time when cut open again, it still was pink, I was so grossed out by this, that I never was able to eat the steak. Whenever we needed to talk to our Server he was off conversation with other customers. His poor attention to us while we were there dining made this experience so Aweful, that we would NOT Recommend this place to anyone of out friends. At the end of our dining Jake gave us the bill along with a box to pack up the raw steak, my husband had to ask him for our dessert which was included in our dinner order. Service was extremely poor, the atmosphere was ok, food was average, especially for the prices we paid. NEVER, EVER AGAIN. So un happy with the...
