Me and my friends arrive with a party of 8, initially we planned on dining in, but after seeing the crowd we decided to do take out. When we were about to make our order, the cashier told us that since we are a party of 8 they have to initiate a gratuity fee, which will default a 18% tip. No problem with that, except that we are ordering separately, as individuals, since we are doing takeout. The cashier's reasoning at the time was that we came with a party of 8, and we know each other so we have to pay gratuity regardless. Her other reason was that the line is long so we should pay the gratuity. From what I remember the line consisted of 12-13 people(us 8 included). There was no line out the door, but because there is a line, that is justification for the cashier to charge us gratuity, that sounds asinine. Paying for gratuity for a party of 8 when dining-in is trivial, however imagine paying extra because there is a line, even if there is a long line, I don't think that is justified. We felt pretty scorned about the situation, because I feel like the cashier is greeding for more tip money, or trying to reduce workload by making us all order as once. Overall we left because it's a matter of principle, we don't like the idea of being forced to order together and pay gratuity for their convenience. We prefer to be malnourished than to put up with this cashier's mischief. I bid thee a final farewell as I won't be returning, in which I'm sure they are...
Read moreI had really high hopes for my visit to this little spot that I had heard so much about. I was even more excited when I got there to see how packed it was. Unfortunately for me it was too packed for my liking so I ordered my food to go. I was thrilled to see the breakfast burritos in pictures. They looked so delicious. So I ordered just that a pork breakfast burrito with a side of oatmeal.. my meal came out to about 24.00bucks. A bit spendy but to me it was worth it initially. The build up was going so well plus I was starving after completing the morning workout. When I got my food I couldnt help but notice the poorly packaged/handled burrito. It look liked something someone discarded on streets. The pork meat was definitely old. And the burrito was less than palatable. The oatmeal, was easily the worst oatmeal Ive had from any establishment. And it came with no fixins? No brown sugar? No milk? As requested? Now, I understand the rush. I've worked food industry for years, and a wait is just that. Its a wait. Take the time to properly prepare your patrons food. Especially when its considered a higher end experience. I wish this business nothing but continued success and can only hope that your future to go orders can get the same great service and attention as your...
