Pig Iron is a surprising, and amazing find!! I took my Mom to dinner there on a Saturday night. Our server was Heather W and she was very professional, while being helpful and conscientious! I wont say it was a perfect visit, because they just recently opened and are working out a few kinks, but I would go back in a heartbeat and here is why: they seated us quickly, they served us quickly, they kept us informed about when out food would come out, the meal was incredible, the drinks were great, and it was warm and wonderful sitting under the stars on their heated patio! More important than that was the teamwork they have instilled in their team! They are all happy pleasant servers and will go out of their way to help you even if you arent "their table." If you're in Templeton and want an amazing meal and GREAT SERVICE, Get yourself over to Pig Iron!!!

Went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. They were rather busy, and the service was probably not what it could be. We were seated and not acknowledge for a good 15 minutes until someone in our party got up and alerted the hostess. When our server did come, she was very sweet. They are probably still teaining staff maybe. The food was great, but came out pretty staggered. We had the waffleritto, the Farro Salad pictured here, which was delicious, and the vegetarian mushroom biscuits and gravy were some of the best we've had. The Mercantile Bloody Mary pictured here was not worth $18 in my opinion. It had a pickled egg, a kind of raw piece of bacon that I removed, and a couple mozzarella balls with a piece of celery. Just order the regular Bloody Mary if you want one. We will be going back soon for dinner and will update this review then!!

Super cool vibes and a killer outdoor setup! Pig Iron has an awesome atmosphere…laid-back, stylish, and perfect for hanging out. The outdoor area is spacious and inviting, with a full bar that keeps the energy going. Great spot whether you’re grabbing a drink or settling in for a meal. I ordered the tri tip torta with fries. The torta was decent…flavor was a bit mild for my taste, but still enjoyable. The fries, though, were a standout: super thin steak-style fries with a crispy snap that made them surprisingly addictive. Menu has plenty of tempting options, and the vibe alone makes it worth a visit. Definitely a place I’d come back to, especially for drinks and that outdoor scene.

Came with a large group of 12 at 6pm with a reservation. Was sat quickly, friendly hostess neat atmosphere. A guy came by with waters and then our server ran by and said she’d be with us soon. (It looked like she had both the inside and outside and possibly the only server) we all figured out some snacks to order for when she came back. (Scotch eggs, pan o fries, pan o onion rings, loaded fries with bacon) the server swung by and took drink orders (a few mai Thais , coke, Arnold palmer and many asked for large waters (they never came)). And the server wanted to take our food orders - assuming so since she was so busy we went ahead and placed orders too.

The other drinks came out after some time and we reminded that we needed waters.

Then the apps came out after a very long time. So much so we thought our meals would come right out after. They were all cold - they must’ve been sitting a while) but since we were so hungry- we sucked it up and ate them.I imagine these would be great served hot- they were pretty good cold too but a scotch egg cold is kinda off putting to eat.

Then one meal came out with someone else delivering it (young friendly girl) and they played food auction —which I hate! ā€œWho has the /insert food name hereā€. It’s always so awkward. Then we waited again (still no waters mind you). Then two meals came out (so we still have 9 to go). So not only was the server overwhelmed- I guess the kitchen was too? Eventually everything came out at sporadic times so much of our table was finished eating while others waited for their food. Most of the sides (sauces) didn’t come with what was ordered on the meals (bbq sauce/ dipping sauces etc) but again since our server usually bypassed our table to the patio we knew we wouldn’t stand a chance getting them so just ate.

One of our meals was messed up (a chicken sandwich came in place of the catfish) the server DID fix that and get it fixed quite quick.

We sat with empty drinks and piles of plates (no pre-bussing) so we stacked our plates and waited.

Our server popped by and asked if we wanted to see dessert menus and although we did see things that sounded good we knew that if it took this long to get our food and it was this disheveled, we shouldn’t take the chance. So that was a huge loss in revenue to the restaurant. We got our bills and the server was kind enough to tell us the 20% gratuity was already added for a table of our size. (At that point it made sense why we were kinda neglected and such an odd dining experience - guaranteed tip no matter what. She was nice enough to say she could remove the auto tip but really- who would say too, so we left it.

End of story- I bet this place could be really good if they got the apps - food and drinks out within normal times. Cold food and empty drinks suck at such prices and the fact a table of 12 turned down some great sounding desserts was a bummer.

In context- there were maybe 3 tables on the patio (2person and 4person) and one table of 3 inside when we arrived. So it’s not like we were a table of 12 on TOP of them. However when other tables started arriving after us - then we got the below expectations service and food delivery.

I did see two men (one with a retro Stache and one with a flannel and hat) that appeared to be supervisors or managers. I would’ve hoped they would address the long wait times as they glad to have seen it and maybe ran some of our meals to ensure they were served hot or followed up after the food mess up. They didn’t. I did notice however they were running drinks to other tables (like a group of four young Asian girls next to us, and a table if six young kids drinking by us) so maybe our family size of twelve was...

I am in town for business so I looked up a good local restaurant. I was so excited to try this place as the reviews said it was so good. Arrived at the restaurant to find the cutest and coziest little place. So far so good. Having high expectations for this place. We were seated immediately. The server was prompt and friendly. He knew the menu well and was able to answer any questions we had. My husband ordered the ribs as everyone reviewed them as moist and delicious. I ordered the house salad with chicken as all the pics made it look so good. The wait for the food was not very long at all, maybe 10 minutes. This should have been a red flag. After the food arrived I could tell my husband did not like the ribs as he was barely touching them. Come to find out after we left they were cold, rubbery and not even cooked all the way. As for my salad , the actual salad part was fine but the chicken in it was cold and tough and stink badly and reminded me of cheap bagged chicken. The entire meal tasted like it was cheap bagged food that was served to us cold. A TERRIBLE experience with the absolute WORST food I have ever had in my entire life. $45 for food that was NOT eaten. Service was good though. I would NOT return to this place. Yelp reviewers you sure got this one WRONG!! Save yourself the time and money and AVOID this place like...

My wife and I tried this restaurant for the first time last night. It's a cute place, dusty and dirty, but cute. Our waitress was MIA for most of the evening. She came to take our drink and food order about 15 minutes after we sat down. We watched the bartender make our drinks and set them on the side for her to pick up, and we waited...and waited...and waited. I finally walked over and got them myself. The drinks were delicious. Someone else brought out the food. Oh, the food. The steak, we ordered medium, and it was black with no hint of pink anywhere inside it. The salad was awful and maybe recycled? The Mac and cheese was awful. The worst I've ever had. When the waitress did show up halfway through eating, she looked terrified, I assume, because she realized she hadn't brought us the drinks or been to the table the entire evening. But she did not say anything. Although we were in the middle of dinner, she tried to give us the check. When my wife asked to see the dessert menu, she audibly groaned. It was incredible. The longest amount of time she spent with us was when she was attempting to show us how to raise the tip amount on the check, while she watched. Would not recommend the food or service, the cocktails...
