Las Champas Restaurant y Pupuseria — Restaurant in California

My review is based on communication, not the quality of food or service itself. I came by this spot on 2/5/24 as I had passed by it several times and was always tempted to try it out. I ordered my food to go; when it came down to paying for my order, i didn't have cash at the time and paid with my debit card.

For some reason, that day, the cashier told me my payment wasn't going thru or if there was an error with their machine. I was given the option to pay with Zelle, which I did. A few days go by, and I get hit with a charge on my debit card. I reached out to Maria and asked for a refund. It has been 1 month, and I would just get the runaround to the point where she is now not...

Don't do it. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The food is just average, very over price. Drinks are very expensive. When we ordered our food, I asked the cashier for a couple of glasses of water. She wanted to charge me $2.00 for a couple of cups of tap water. Unbelievable, I have never been to a restaurant in which they charge for water. It wasn't even filtered water, just tap water. This is why it makes it very hard to support local businesses. I came on 5-5-2024 I ordered a burger and the cashier charged me twice. When I notified her she told me to take it up with my bank. I was showing her the charge as she charged me a second time. I talked to the manager and she said I could get a burger next time I come in. It's 2 days later and this lady is so petty I've been waiting for over 40 minutes.
