The people were very friendly, but the food was not good and the service was very, VERY slow. I ordered chili cheese fries with the cheese steak. The fries were cheap frozen fries with no seasoning. The chili and nacho cheese were clearly right out of a can. The cheese steak wasn't seasoned at all either and the cheese wiz wasn't mixed into the steak well at all. The bread was cheap store-bought bread. Maybe I need to try the chicken wings next time.
I also noticed one really hard working and nice lady running both the order taking and the order delivery.
there should never be anyone waiting to pay, that's just bad business...always prioritize payment over delivery.
if you are so busy that payment is taking all the time, bring one of the 3 cooks up to the front to deliver. It's better for you to get your money and have the food take a little longer (though not much longer please) than it is to have people waiting for money while standing in the cold. At least after they've paid customers can go wait in their car.
place the menu on the right side of the order window so people can look at it while waiting in line.
consider putting up a monitor or counter on the window so people who are in their cars can see when their order is ready.
I really want this place to succeed, and maybe I just had a bad experience on my first visit. Best wishes and I hope things...
Read moreI absolutely LOVE this place. My boyfriend and I have recently moved to Elk Grove from the North Highlands area and we will drive all the way here just for a sandwich. The cheesesteaks and pastrami are AMAZING! Shakes are delicious (my fave is chocolate banana or strawberry banana). Cold sandwiches and burgers are great! Love the chili cheese fries and onion rings. Not a wing girl, so I can't vouch for those (but the reviews tell me they are amazing).
The customer service is hit-and-miss, mediocre. I would say never rude, which is why I give 5 stars. The lady who answers the phone is no customer service rep and she tends to be kinda short with people sometimes, but they also get VERY busy and do VERY well with the small staff (that I see). They offer amazing food at a fair price (might seem expensive, but go compare what you get for your money to other cheesesteak joints in a 10-mile radius). To me, it's worth every penny.
I heard they were going to do construction. Not sure if they have re-opened or not yet, but am trying to plan out my boyfriend's b-day and it still says on Google that they are "temporarily closed."
I will also add thag the other Granites locations in the Sacramento area are disappointing and I won't wast my money. Please don't compare them to this one...it's WAY different and...
Read moreUpdated review: Horrendous Food ! Place is under new ownership now. I have tried it 3 times since the new owners have taken over to try to give it a fair chance. Each time the food has been disappointing. The wings used to be crispy and they are soggy now. The sandwiches lack flavor like they used to have. I even tried the new "sushi" roll they added to the menu and it was horrendous just a glob of fried cream cheese. It seems like they are trying to cut corners with costs but are still charging high prices. In fairness the customer service is good and I was able to place a phone order which was an issue with the previous owners. Sad to say Granites for me will just have to be a fond memory and not a place I eat at.
The food is amazing ! I eat here probably about once a month and it is delicious every time. My favorite thing to order is the Italian steak and cheese with mild peppers and a side of fried mushrooms. The wings are the best around. Flavors are unbeatable and mouthwatering. If you are looking for a nice cool treat their homemade shakes are tasty too pineapple is my favorite. The service is a bit slow because it is only about 2 sometimes 3 people working but they are friendly if you are courteous to them. I usually order my food, leave and come back to pick it up. This place is worth it and a...
