I recently saw this place on TikTok and it looked good, we will make a drive to get good tacos and try a new spot out. This was about 40 mins away from us but it was worth the drive. First it was easy to find and easy to get to, with plenty of parking in the back. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with some good music (always a good sign) and the person behind the counter made us feel at home. Looking around there were locals eating and you could tell they were comfortable (another good sign). The menu was easy to read and had a good variety of options, and the prices were in the range I would expect. I like to order quite a bit so I can get a good feel for how the food is. We got tacos dorado (one with just papa And the other topped with carnitas), quesotacos de birria, pozole chico, all pastor burrito, and a pollo and carne asada street tacos.
As the food came out, it was fresh and hot, the doado tacos were nice and crispy, I would of liked more papa inside, the just papa taco there was barely anything inside, but the carnitas one was flavorful, they were topped with onions and sauce 7/10. The quesobirria tacos were solid, nice and meaty and full of cheese. I wished that some consume came with it (I think that should be standard with birria) 8/10.pozole was full of meat and the chico size was decent for lunch 9/10. Burrito was decent, had good flavor, but didn't really stand out I would give it a 7 out of 10. Street tacos were ok, meat had good flavor but was a little on the dry side, I like my taco to have a little juice/grease in the meat or have some sauce on top 7/10. There were 2 sauce options normal and hot, the hot was good, not over the top spicy and went well with the tacos. I would of loved to get. A green sauce option. Also got a chili rejeno, that was big and delicious, the perfect amount of cheese and spinach 9/10. I think they should have a water station, so you don't have to buy a small water bottle, but the service was 10/10. Both the lady and gentlemen made us feel at home. Would I drive 40 mins to go back, probably not. But I would for sure come back if I was in the area, well worth a 15-20 min drive. I left full and happy, there is some room for improvement, and if they changed some things I would say it's worth the...
Read moreDrove from Woodland to try this place after seeing it on TikTok. Wasn't too bust when we arrived, just before 10am but it quickly picked up & got packed.
We ordered a large menudo with pata, a quesabirria, taco de birria & a carnitas taco. Everything was delicious but the carnitas taco could have been better. I feel like I was given the leftover meat from the bottom of the carnitas pile & that's my least favorite part but it could be just a personal preference. I like the leaner, less greasy carnitas.
The one thing I did notice is that the young blonde who initially took our order seems to get frazzled and stressed out very easily but she did not have a bad attitude like other reviewers claim. She was pleasant and attentive while we were there.
Definitely recommend giving this place a try. Restaurant is clean & the family seems to want to have happy customers. We will definitely...
