We haven’t been to Romas for a few years, and the memory of the last time was a positive one. Last night we were in the mood for pizza and decided to try them again. We phoned in our order for pick up - two large pizzas and their garlic bread with cheese. They told us it would be 20 minutes, so my husband waited until then and headed over. He ended up waiting another 30 minutes at the restaurant. Once back home I opened the box of the garlic cheesy bread, and was very disappointed. Basically it was garlic bread with sliced cheese slapped on top, barely melted at that. Pepperoni pizza was ok - but just that, nothing special, kind of bland and I’m not sure what the hype is all about with this place. Onto the last pizza though (a white sauce pizza with cheese, olives, mushrooms and onions). The bottom of it was hard, like they over cooked and almost burnt it. There was barely any sauce at all and the whole pizza was just bland. No flavor at all. It's almost like they use too much cheese (which is hard to do because who doesn't love cheese) but even that didn't have much flavor. To top it all off, my daughter found a hair cooked into her slice. Later I also found one in my slice and had to spit it out! That just did it for me and I threw the rest of the pizza out (we had only eaten about 3 slices of it). So basically a large $25 pizza thrown into the trash. For the price and hype of this place it was absolutely unacceptable. I don't understand why people rave about it and the hair just threw me over the edge - Papa Murphys is 10 times better than my experience here! I’m hoping they just had an off day and were really busy, but we will never eat here again, not when there are several other pizza places we go to that are consistantly far better than this for a fraction...
Read moreThe decline to my favorite pizza joint has been in works for a while. I've waited to post review because I wasn't sure what was causing the downward spiral. At first I thought it was a change in ownership, nope. Then I thought it was a change to the cheese, naw. Then I thought it was cheaper ingredients, not that either. But tonight I found the real reason, it's the staff. Well what I mean to say is the newer staff. It could also be all the staff are simply tired of the restaurant industry. My first issue was with the girl at the counter, who also over charged me. Then I guess she wrote down the wrong toppings for my pizza My order was half canadian ham and mushroom and half pepperoni and mushroom. What I received was something that looked like sandwich slices of ham, a few pieces of ground beef topping and some whole mushrooms. Also to add, the employee who put together my pizza did a terrible job of spreading toppings on it. On one half of the pizza every slice had one piece of ground beef and these whole mushroom chunks. What they don't use sliced mushrooms anymore? Earlier I mentioned the sliced sandwich ham, it was all thrown on the front on the pizza. What about the back of my pizza? I could expect this from a typical pizza chain but never Roma's Pizzeria. My mom has told me for years that she stopped coming here because of the service. Now I believe here. This IDGAF has now pushed me away to. I guess I'll follow my mom's lead and go to Roma's #2. Goodbye Roma's on Franklin you were top dog in my eyes for many years. But I can't be in this food relationship when you don't...
Read moreWe love Roma's, but tonight's experience wasn't the best. Most of it wasn't entirely the staff's fault. It was pretty crowded, as usual, so we were seated in the back room. There were many small children, screaming, climbing on all the seats, and running all over. We couldn't even hear ourselves talk. Twice I had to stop little girls from trying to push and climb up onto my walker that was parked right next to me. They could have gotten hurt if they had succeeded. These children were completely out of control, yet I never saw a single parent even try to stop them, and even the staff seemed to be totally ignoring the horrific behavior. On top of that, it took a really long time to get our pizza, but that was probably due to the amount of people in there at the time. The staff was really quite attentive, except for the fact that we had no food, lol. I'm sure we'll go back, but tonight definitely wasn't a...
