The atmosphere at this little restaurant is inviting and the wait staff is great. I usually come first breakfast a few times a month but I have decided to stop coming here after my last visit a couple of days ago. I ordered my breakfast and sat at the diner bar. They had two cooks working and they were both using very foul language in Spanish, referring to me and other patrons in a derogatory way. I'm assuming they didn't know I speak Spanish because I don't look the part, but it offended me to a whole new level. The food on the last 2 visits was sub-par as well. My potatoes on my skillet weren't cooked all the way through. They were very hard to bite through and we're not washed- they tasted terribly dirty and metallic. The biscuits on my last trip were without flavor- somewhat burned on the outside and not even warm enough to melt butter on. The coffee is not great either. It's very, very watered down basic generic coffee.
Prices are reasonable for a diner, but unfortunately not worth the prices they charge because the food is not that good. I'd recommend the larger chains over the food here. I'll try them again in a couple of months and cross my fingers that it gets better. If it does I'll definitely write...
Read moreThe waitress literally stole 40 dollars from me, after I left her a 20 dollar tip. The owner got involved and seeing the receipt, acknowledged that the waitress was wrong, called me, texted me, saying that there was money in an envelope waiting for me at the desk in order to correct his waitresses actions. I asked for an apology, and he completely flipped out and told me to take him to court. My concern is. How many other people do they pull this scam on? The waitress literally told me when I called that it happens a lot. So many elderly eat here. If you're one of them, or know one that does, please watch their account after using a card here. The friend I was with who's elderly, told me he only pays cash here, and I can see why, now. I have all the records of the phone call and my bank...
Read moreDECADES of regular use favorites. FAMILY owned & operated. With very little price difference compared to fast food purchases allows for SUGAR MILL RESTAURANT to be a top go to place regardless of whom or what reason it's so OFTEN chosen.
