My husband and I came here on May 21, 2024. Someone recommended this place to us so we decided to try it out. We arrived around 11:20 AM and there were a couple customers ahead of us and we noticed that the Fire Department was also there eating. We had our dogs with us and we sat outside. It was a cool day and it felt nice to sit outside in the sun.
I ordered a 1/3 lb cheeseburger and my husband got a 1/2 lb cheeseburger. We shared an order of half onion rings and half fries. Looking at the time stamp of my photos, the food came out in 12 minutes (husband finished ordering at 11:24 AM and food came out at 11:36 AM). As I looked down at my burger which was open, I could see the juice running out of it, wow. I posted a video of it too lol. All the food was so hot so we could definitely tell it was just made.
I literally had no complaints. We received friendly service, the food was delicious, loved the fries and the texture of the onion rings. If we're in the area again, this would be a place we would make a point of returning to as it...
Read moreBoy the quality control/standards has changed at the Los Osos location, always use to be a HUGE burger before Covid, our first time back since and now it's hit and miss and the prices have gone from high to ridiculous. They START at $15 for a burger only. The service was great by the curly haired guy who took the order, but the other one helping him couldn't have cared less. Same with the burger makers I guess since 1 of the 3 in our order was huge, and the other 2 looked like half was missing. I mean a 50 cent piece size round of tomato and a whopping 2 pickle chips with a patty and bun for $15.95?! I wish I had my phone for a pic. Didn't complain, we just decided we're done and won't be back, it's simply not worth it or what it use to be. And don't use the price of things going up as an excuse, a second slice of tomato and pickles cost nothing, it was obvious corners are being cut and prices have gone way up. This isn't how they use to be,...
Read moreAfter living in the area for years, I still have no idea what makes people rave about Sylvester's. Yes, they have burgers. Yes, they are huge messy burgers. And yes, they offer vegetarian options, as well as boar, bison... But are they spectacular burgers? Not at all. In fact, they are virtually identical to every other "independent" burger place. The one thing that I will give them credit for is their recent acquisition/hire of someone who actually clearly cares about the job she is doing. I don't know if she is the manager, or just someone who takes her job seriously, but since Brit has been working there ,the place seems cleaner and the food is more consistently prepared. If I order a well-done burger, I get a well-done burger - for the first time since we started eating there. So here's hoping that the upward trend continues & that Sylvester's will finally start to live up to their...
