Taqueria El Mezcal — Restaurant in California

Let me start off with I've been coming to this place for about 10 to 13 years and the food has always been okay it's a convenient place to go because of the drive-thru and their customer service was what kept me coming back but for the last 2 years their customer service has been lacking on Saturday July 16th I can say was the last time I will ever be going to this location because when I was being given my order the person giving it to me started to tell me what it was when I informed her that the burrito that she was handing me was not the correct one that I had ordered a Super burrito al pastor not a regular carne asada she said okay turns around places the burrito on the counter walks further back turns back around starts coming back towards me to give me my order but I thought I saw her pick up the same burrito I said is that the same burrito and she blunt out lied to my face and said no this is a different one again I wasn't sure I had seen her pick it up but I thought I saw her pick up the same burrito I give people the benefit of the doubt especially when it comes to people who make my food we went home I opened the burrito and it was a regular burrito de carne asada so i was not mistaken when I thought she was giving me the same burrito that she had just told me wasn't mine the fact that she felt so comfortable that she lied to my face is just sad so after 10 to 13 years I nor my family will be returning to...

Been going here for years, really great food. But on 4-23-19 around 5pm I tried calling my order in and the phone kept going to voicemail. Then finally someone answered and said nothing but placed the phone down. I thought I was just waiting until they were done taking an order but after about 10 mins and 3 orders later I realized they only answered the phone so it would stop ringing. When I arrived to do drive through, and told them about the phone incident they thought nothing of it and said they were busy. Really unprofessional to pick up the phone and not say nothing. I hope they can hire more people to take calls over the phone or train there current...

My review is based on take-out only. Aside from the burrito being huge, it was certainly lacking in the taste department. The rice was dry (either not enough water, or had been sitting out too long) and flavorless. The chicken was cut into small cubes, but I prefer it to be stringy. Worst of all, the chicken tasted rotten! And I would say flavorless as well. I had to add a lot of hot sauce, which was probably the only good thing about it. Even then, the sauces came in tiny containers that were half-size, and they only gave 2 which was only enough for half the burrito. I certainly will not be ordering from there again. I've had much better burritos...
