The Breakroom — Restaurant in California

First: Recommended! Second: Details: Located just off Highway 50 in a strip mall I'd been by this spot numerous times. From the outside with darkened windows I thought it was a sports bar pool hall beer joint. Today I discovered it's a mighty fine restaurant too! Has outdoor covered patio service so next time I can bring my dog, yippee! No breakfast menu that I saw but since they open at 11:00 AM that makes sense. I'd rate 5-star if they offered breakfast and opened a bit earlier. I considered vegetarian options and salads, but instead I had the daily special, a tasty Schnitzel sandwich, offered with a choice of salad or fries. Like a glutton I also went for desert; homemade brownie a-la-mode, plus whip cream and caramel sauce. Huge, could easily share with another person, maybe even a table of six! But heck, I ate it all. Next time I come I might even buy one of their nice...

No, I can’t speak for the rest of the food in this restaurant, but I ordered two orders of fish and chips today and they were so greasy. They were dripping with oil. Came home and pressed the oil out of them and put them in the air fryer, cause they’re soggy and even after they came out of the air fryer they were still full of oil and the fries if you have cholesterol problems stay away. I usually don’t give a bad review on restaurants because usually the ones that I go to are very good and this restaurant had good reviews. That’s why we went. Maybe the cook was having a bad day or he was being rushed. I don’t know. But I had to throw the fries out and I ate one piece of my fish, but it was so full of oil it just- If you want good fish and chips, go to London fish and chips on Main Avenue in Placerville. Staff seemed nice no complaints on that aspect, But i ordered a burger w/jalapenos. They did not put jalapenos on my burger, the only thing good on the burger was the bacon and beef... I ordered mini corn dogs for my 4year old the meal was $8 it had 4 mini corndogs that were tiny a half filled small cup of apple juice and a decent side of fruit. But would never order this again for the outrageous price.. we also ordered a few appetizers. Pretzels were great the cheese dip honestly tasted like you were dipping in Watery cheese, the wings were cold and flavorless, come on how do you ruin a wing :(.... last thing was the curly fries seemed as if they were laying out for a day they re-fried in old oil.
