We were told this was a good, albeit funky little place with outdoor, patio seating. This was our 2nd visit. The first was good. The second was an embarrassment. My son was traveling home and I suggested a quick, local breakfast. There was no wait, but our tablecloth had obviously been used. It was not as filthy as the waitresses apron, but even my 10 yr old grandson was put off by it. We waited 15 minutes for our order to be taken taken. The staff did appologize and say they were short staffed. We waited another hour before we said we had to go. My 5 yr old granddaughter opted for Mc Donald's because it would be clean and faster. We asked the waitress if our order had been started and she said no and it would be 20-30 minutes, so we opted to go. Then the waitress ran out to say the cook had started it. So we sat back down. The food came out in waves. My CA omelet was dark brown and crunchy. The hot cakes were not finished. My grandson's breakfast burrito looked awesome and he said it was good. We arrived at 9:30, we received our food at 11:15 and left around noon. My son should have been half way home by then. With so many choices to choose from, it will be a mighty long time before we choose this...
Read moreWe've been going for breakfast at The Mayor's Place for years and never get tired of the location, the people, or the delicious food. Full disclosure here: for breakfast we exclusively get the chili verde omelette. We've tried other menu items for lunch, but for breakfast the chili verde omelette is the best there is. The hash browns are the best anywhere, crispy outside and perfectly cooked inside. Susanne gets the biscuit and gravy. She's a bit of a B&G connoisseur and loves it here. I've told many people about this place and almost everyone knows the building, it's pretty distinctive, and many people say, "I've always wanted to try the restaurant." I tell folks to quit waiting and get in there for a great breakfast (try the chili verde!). You will be greeted by the owners, Gina and Chris and you can look over the extensive menu to choose a delicious entree. Try the Mayor's Place for lunch, too. Chris is an award winning BBQ chef and everything from the burgers to the tri tip is top notch. Eating at The Mayor's Place is a win-win-win all around. You will be supporting local business, supporting a nice family AND getting a wonderful meal at a great price....
Read moreThe over all experience was interesting. Never been here before But sad to say won't go back. 3-4 stars for the listed options ( here ) But here is where the problem was, The menu prices are aprx. 10-15 % different than what was charged. We ordered our food, the food was good. The service was good, I wanted a refill on my soda and the machine was broken- so I should not have been charged for that. BUT.... When the bill came each item was 2+ dollars more than listed. Yes, the menu says prices subject to change But I think in good faith they should tell you this. Saying something like- Just so you know Our menu is not current so be prepared when the bill comes to be charged more. Honest yes but Now that would be a turn off to customers. But being tricked is also a turn off. Too bad too because we would have loved to have had a unique little place to bring out of town guests. Lastly-Rustic is one thing but the place could use a little clean up too- tables, cloths, chairs, salt and pepper shakers all had residual...
