I didn't have any food, so I went here on a Friday night to meet a friend. I had never been to cricket before and now I wanna go back. This bar Toots is a big part of why I wanna go back, it's an amazingly cool dive bar with a back room stage for live music. Last night when I went it was a punk rock band and they were really good. The crowd as you might imagine was colorful and surprisingly diverse. The bar keep was friendly and on it so my drink was never empty, they had a really good porter on tap and it was always filled completely to the rim where you have to sip the top down just to pick it up. I wish I had stayed longer to see how the scene goes, my feeling is it's a great place to hangout on a Friday night, and if you happen to get bored there's like another bar a block or so away you can go between. I saw several small groups of peeps just hanging out together up n down the main drag. Parking might be an issue so either go early or...

You'll always either have a juke box blasting nothing but great tunes, or live music ranging from country to punk to heavy metal to Greatful Dead cover bands and EVERYTHING in between. There's a pool table, pinball, old school Galaga, & karaoke on Tuesday nights.
The bartenders are guaranteed to always be rad and all definitely know how to pour a great drink that gets the job done but doesn't break the bank (think- tasty + strong + cheap😉). The owners and staff are all locals too and are either related or have been friends for years, so you get the whole small-town, local hangout, "one big bar family" kinda vibes, in the best possible way of course.
Definitely worth checking out if you ever find yourself looking for a drink in the lovely East Bay Area, plus, you don't wanna miss seeing the bear that's always hanging...
Read moreWe came here for a beverage to celebrate my fiancés mom’s birthday. The first bartender we had was super sweet and even played a song for us using her own AMI credits.
This experience took a shift when the shift changed. A bartender by the name of Jerry accidentally poured the wrong drinks for us. No big deal, it happens quite a bit and we’re no strangers to this happening. My fiancé and I saw him pour the wrong drink in the first place and let him know that it was wrong. Jerry got a little upset at this and began arguing saying that it was the wrong drink. He continued arguing with my future mother in law, even though the taste of Malibu and the taste of Hendricks are extremely distinct from one another.
As far as the atmosphere of the bar, it is awesome. The first bartender was lovely and received Jerry’s tip as she was walking out the door. Don’t let this bad review scare you away from the place. I hope you will have a better experience...
