We’ve visited this bakery a few times before and have always enjoyed the food, particularly the pepperoni panini and the baked goods. Today, we came back with high expectations, ordering a box of baked goods and the pepperoni panini we’ve come to love. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what we hoped for, mainly due to the service and a few disappointing issues.
First, we learned that the bakery is only open once a week right now, which we understand due to the need to conserve energy in the heat. However, it’s still puzzling how they could run out of such a key ingredient, especially considering they’re only open once a week. When we went to order the pepperoni panini, we were told they were completely out of pepperoni. While we were okay with this and decided to try something else, it was frustrating that there seemed to be no attention to their stock levels.
We ended up ordering three 3-cheese pesto paninis instead. Throughout the ordering process, the staff (two girls) didn’t seem particularly friendly or engaged. They weren’t rude, but their attitude was far from warm or welcoming. Adding to the frustration, we were told that their system was down and they were only accepting cash or taking down your info manually. While I understand that tech issues happen, it added to the overall inconvenience.
When our paninis were ready, one of the girls handed them over with a “Have a good one,” but there was no genuine warmth or acknowledgment. She smiled and laughed as she walked away, but we were left unsure what was so funny given the situation.
Now, to the food: The paninis, which are listed as having three cheeses (cheddar/mozzarella/pepper jack per their menu on door dash), were disappointing. Our three 3-cheese pesto paninis appeared to only contain cheddar and had very little melted cheese at all. For $10 each, I expect the panini to be made as advertised with three cheeses and properly melted. I even took a photo to show the lack of melted cheese and the overall lack of variety in the cheese selection and just cheddar as the option. Literally the photo below is the panini with one singular type of cheese and no sight of what should be clear as day pepper jack and mozzarella. Honestly, it’s the fact this is being charged at like $10 a panini is ridiculous and I’m not getting what is advertised. If they could let me know there’s no pepperoni then why not let me know there’s not everything for this panini either so we can at that point not bother with it.
Overall, the experience was a letdown. For a place that’s only open once a week right now, it’s surprising to see so many areas lacking attention from inventory management to service and the quality of the food not matching what’s advertised. I can’t recommend this bakery to others when there are plenty of other places that clearly take more pride in their products and provide a more welcoming atmosphere. Sadly, we won’t be returning...
Read morefirst time I’ve been in here and I was really looking forward to ordering because I want to support a small business, The pastries they had looked really good even though it was limited and so did the menu options. It felt like a casual atmosphere which I do like, but I did not feel comfortable or welcome. As someone who’s worked in the service industry I feel like when it comes to people ordering you should leave it open ended so there’s room for people to order more. (more opportunity to make more money) But unfortunately I only got a sandwich and drink. I also wanted a few pastries, but it seemed like the lady just wanted to get my order out-of-the-way so that’s all I ordered, I was also charged for a latte. At least that’s what I could only assume based on my amount because I wasn't given a receipt. I had to then let the girl know who is making my drink that it was not a latte and it’s an iced coffee because I could tell that what she was brewing was way too late in color for it to just be coffee. Which the girl then commented about to the original girl who made my order. I hope this is not regular service. I’m sure it was just one of those days where two ladies just wanted to focus on there one on one conversations over customer connection. this review will probably not mean a lot since there is a lot of positive reviews, but I just wanted to put my two cents into it. Just so the owners and/or management know what they can work on. Coffee taste fine and the four cheese pesto panini taste good. Is it worth coming back? I don’t know maybe one day ill give it...
Read moreTwo Ladd's is such an amazing little bakery to have in our area! Friday morning it was drizzly and cold, and I popped in to grab a cup of tea and had a delightful raspberry muffin (Thank you so much!) warmed to perfection and with real butter. I just love their house blend tea, and they will add as much honey as you prefer... I love mine with a little cream and honey. Walking in from the cold is like stepping into a fine little French café (and they have the culinary certificates on the wall to prove it!) with delectable smells and a beautiful array of baked goods to tantalize anyone within reach. The owner is welcoming, cheerful, and friendly and I have loved everything I have tried there. They have pastries, muffins, sweet or savory crepes, paninis, sandwiches, and more. So much better than Starbucks... And you are supporting a local business! Give Two Ladd's Bakery a try, you won't...
