First allow me to state that I am a BIG Google review participating person, and I enjoy giving credit where credit is due, but unfortunately for Mr. WOK Chinese Restaurant located in Thorndale, Pa., my last interaction was a "Total Train Wreck" regarding my last service order which was conveyed clearly. On 9/5/25, I placed a very simple order of "roast pork with no vegetables" , which was repeated twice in succession for clarity, but unfortunately this order fell on deaf ears. After driving approximately 20 minutes to retrieve my order, and once there, asking again in person if the order was correct,.. I was reassured by the Asian representative at the counter, that the order was correct. Once I arrived home to enjoy my meal with my wife, the simple order was a completely different selection then what was previously confirmed. Once realizing that the meal was not of what was ordered, I immediately contacted the restaurant to discuss the error that was conducted on their behalf. After politely explaining that a refund is now in order, the Asian representative started "NO REFUNDS".!!!! After voicing my displeasure with this transaction, the Asian representative now stated that the food order in question needed to be returned to the restaurant In Person. I clearly suggested that a over the phone refund should commence immediately, with her insisting that this will not take place unless it is in person. At this point, I was then compelled in order to drive an additional 20 minutes one way to drop off a food order that I never placed in the beginning, and to retrieve my refund. I can only surmise that the "In-Person" interaction that was requested exemplifies this restaurants total disbelief that a order was incorrect on their behalf, or reluctant to see if the meal was partially eaten?? Either way, once on location at this restaurant, I immediately expressed my disbelief that disestablishment would compel a customer to return a meal that was prepared in error / and then visibly inspecting its contents to see if any or all parts were returned in its entirety... UNBELIEVABLE.!!?!
At the conclusion of my interaction with this Asian representative at the counter, I was offered by this individual a so-called "Swap Meal & Two (2) Dried up Egg Rolls", which I immediately declined, and requested a full refund in cash, along with questioning their audacity to have customers prove that the incorrect order was intact.... AGAIN, UNBELIEVABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES.
I truly believe it will be a "COLD DAY IN HELL" before I patronize this...
Read moreI will never order here again. I use to go here all the time. Then I ordered one night spent $49 on the food three combination platters and a extra egg roll. I discovered the pork fried rice had no pork in it. The rice was soggy and pale. Not brown and fried. I called and explained my complaint. They said "you have to say you want pork fried rice and it's a up charge. That "the menu only states fried rice." So I look at the menu stapled to the bag and it reads pork fried rice. I say to him the menu says the combination platters are served with pork fried rice. Then I'm told. "Well it's not updated on the menu and next time you have to say you want pork fried rice and pay an up charge." I asked why wouldn't you tell us that when we ordered? They always came with pork fried rice. They said pork prices are to high. I said I would gladly pay the up charge for the pork. So today when we ordered we ordered three combination platters with pork fried rice. We repeated pork fried rice with each platter. They repeated the order. We get home and the rice is pale soggy rice with no pork. To make it even worse this time the sesame chicken had no sauce. I should have never gave them a second chance. $49 and I can't get some pork bits? I called them and said I was returning the food for a refund. I will have to wait to see if I got a true refund? The new menu has pork removed however, you don't get a menu until you pick up and pay. You can't even look the menu up online it comes up error. I will not order from them ever again. Every other Chinese restaurant in the area serves pork with the fried rice in the combination platters. I mean they need to just be honest over the phone and say they no longer include the pork. It's deception to allow an order to be placed and not clearly say we no longer offer that. They should be ashamed of themselves because you know what else is expensive the gas it took me to drive back to the store...
Read moreI hadn’t had Chinese food in a long time so I ordered the roast pork variety. That’s it. The fried rice I got was NOTHING LIKE any fried rice I’ve ever gotten anywhere. It wasn’t fried rice. You could say what I ordered was loosely based on fried rice. The ingredients were there but the execution was entirely different. This was odd. Odd fried rice. Suffice to say I ate it. I was hungry and this was sustenance. I felt a sense of betrayal. I know what I wanted and in ordering I had an expectation that was not met. If you’d asked me I’d say that when you order fried rice you’re gonna get the iconic fried rice that you always get with maybe a little variation. Not so here. This was entirely different. Waaay off the map. I don’t know if their version of fried rice is deliberately different to make a statement or if it’s made the way it is because of situational reasons. I don’t know. I know that I won’t order fried rice from there again. Take from that what you will. The egg roll was a regular egg roll....
