Unfortunate experience at Okinii this week. We ordered takeout for 5 family members - 3 of which ordered the Chicken and Broccoli.
The Chicken and Broccoli tasted and smelled like fish - all three of us agreed and could not eat our meals. We had to throw out the entire meal - which pains us to do as we do not like to waste food - it was just that BAD.
We called Okinii to let them know that something seems off with the Chicken & Broccoli (for future customers sake) and we recieved a lot of doubt from the staff.
We were on the phone for 25 minutes total between waiting for managers, back and forth negotiations, and arguing. The Okinii "Manager" wanted us to bring back our food so that they could inspect it, we said we were unable to do so because of the distance back and forth. We were not expecting free food from Okinii - we just thought with all of the trouble - they would be willing to listen and help make it right. The "Manager" said he could not do anything to comp our meals without talking to his Manager. After more discussions - we were then offered a giftcard which we declined (just have an overall bad taste in our mouths - no pun intended). Finally the "Manager" offered us 30% back on our entire bill (which was $75). This did not cover the 3 Chicken & Broccoli entress - but after 25 minutes on the phone - we did not care about the food or money anymore.
To note - 2 members of our family did order the Chicken Teryaki and enjoyed it.
Poor customer service that will keep us from coming back in the future....

I’ve ordered take out from Okinii at least two dozen times. I’ve never had a meal in the restaurant. 100% of the time the food is between very good and great. I highly recommend the food at Okinii.
Some of our favorites: Downingtown Roll Rainbow Roll Sesame Chicken
Also 100% of the time, they cannot find my order when I show up to pick it up. They ask for my name, rummage around through receipts and can’t find it. They ask for my phone number, rummage around through receipts and can’t find it. They ask for an order number, rummage around through receipts and can’t find it. They talk to someone else in the restaurant and can’t find it. Then they tell me that they don’t have my order. I insist that they do, that this happens every time, and they look one more time and find my order. 90% of the time it’s one of the five orders ready to go right in front of them. I kid you not, this same scenario happens every time. I have no idea why they don’t have a better system for finding orders, but I’m super hopeful they find a better system because it’s frustrating as a customer.
Yes, I keep ordering because the food is good, and it’s relatively expensive as take out for my family of four runs about $85. 4 to 5 star food, 1 star take out service. Hope this helps with...
Read moreWhen I first walked in I love the look of the restaurant. We were seated right away. My daughter really wanted sushi and I wanted to try General Tso chicken. We saw the sushi pizza and thought it would be a fun app. The pizza sushi was great! The salad that came with the meal was normal for sushi places. There was one big slice of tomato that was mushy and not very appetizing. But the rest of the salad was ok. My daughter thought her sushi was good. The wasabi and ginger for the sushi didn't seem very fresh or good quality when I tried it. I like both on my sushi so it has an impact on the over all flavor if they are not sharp clean flavors. I got the hot tea which was good. The waitress was attentive in keeping it full which I really liked. I asked for my General Tso chicken really really spicy. They delivered with lots of hot peppers in the dish, I was impressed. It has presented nicely with garnish and the steamed broccoli was prepared well. It hit the spot and my daughter and I enjoyed our first...
