El Mezcal Grill — Restaurant in Cambridge City

This place used to be so good, with kind and attentive servers, fresh tasty food, and affordable prices. But now?? I have never experienced such poor customer service and unprofessional servers in my life. I don't know what happened and why things have taken such a huge downhill turn, but it is the complete opposite of my experiences in the previous years.

After our last experience we will definitely not be returning. Our pick up order was wrong. We called and explained the situation and the server who answered the phone was completely rude and refused to let me speak with a manager. She initially changed my online order because she assumed I ordered wrong. Then complained about having to remake it when I told her I had ordered it the way I wanted it. After getting home with our order and discovering it was made wrong, this same employee is the one who was rude and unprofessional on the phone. The food had not been eaten, but had been stirred in the container so she refused to let me come exchange it for the right item. And then refused to let me speak to a manager.

The prices have gone up, the customer service has hit rock bottom, and the overall quality has decreased. I hope the management sees this and makes the proper changes necessary to fix this unfortunate...

So tonight I sent my girlfriend to get some food. We ordered two Fiesta taco salad Guadalajara, and the total came out to $32.62. When my girlfriend arrived after being told 25 minutes, she showed up to an empty restaurant where the cooks were sitting down eating Subway food. The guy that proceeded to check her out told her that the total was going to be $42.62. When she asked why the total was different than the total printed on both of the receipts stapled to the bags of food we ordered, he responded with it was a mandatory tip. My girlfriend and I do not mind tipping. That is not the problem. But there is not a mandatory tip, especially a little bit over 30% for a tip that we went and picked up! That's crazy. Which brings me to my question a tip for what? He didn't cook the food, and he didn't deliver it, and you still wanted an almost 30% tip that he tried to justify as mandatory. Mind blowing. Well. To begin with, our waitress (yadira) got the margarita flavors completely wrong and when confronted about it, she began to argue with us insisting that she gave me what I had ordered when I’m quite sure it was not (considering IM the one that ordered the drink), then on top of that I order the ACP Texana (which comes with steak, chicken and shrimp) with no zucchini and what do I get? Vegetable acp with no zucchini. When confronted, the waitress once again argued with me telling me that I ordered the veggie acp. I’ve never been to a restaurant where the server will sit there and tell you that you don’t know what you ordered and that you, as the customer, are wrong. But to sum it up. Great food at the end of it all, terrible service from one server. First time eating at this new restaurant and it ruined...
