The beef pancakes we ordered had virtually no meat in them. There were literally a few specks & shreds, none bigger than confetti. None of the positive reviews panned out to be a real reflection of the poor quality of the food here.
Response to business’s dishonest reply:
Nothing you’ve said is factual. Your response appears to be an attempt to cover up the fact that you cut corners on food to save yourself a little bit of money. Everyone can see that so few customers even dare to step foot in this place. And it’s not because the neighborhood isn’t busy, is it? Your conveniently disappearing “video footage” would have only confirmed what I’ve said. Wishing you all the best and good luck trying to stay in business with this lack of accountability and self-reflection, as it’s certainly desperately needed.
Your restaurant was entirely empty for the nearly half hour I inexplicably had to wait during the lunch rush hour. I was concerned this was due to your restaurant being poor quality, and you went on to prove it. This response from the business owner is proof positive of their low standards, which led to the subpar food served.
As I told you on the phone, I did not even eat the empty pancake when I finally made it home and I even offered to you to bring it back. You apologized and told me not to, and offered the refund because you knew you hadn’t made it properly! You acknowledged it was not what you advertised, and certainly looked nothing like the photos you have taped all over the windows. Now, for the internet you want to change your story and insult me.
I threw the entire thing in the trash as soon as you hung up. It was empty and had a bitter taste like it had been cooked in old oil to save money. Did you also leave out the meat to save yourself money? Seems like it may be your restaurant that is struggling for money due to so few customers.
Have you noticed yet? Look right across the street at all the customers waiting in long lines at the other food shops, and maybe work more to treat customers better and actually sell good food so you can try to keep your business open? Just some advice.
I’m an avid supporter of small local restaurants that serve this cuisine, and yours is the worst I’ve had in Boston. Good luck getting customers...
Read moreThe young couple who own this little gem are very friendly and the wife is a wonderful cook. There are pork ribs and lamb rib chops with the spice mix of the Sichuan region of China that remind me of the street food “meat on a stick” I’ve had in Asia, but much meatier and more tender. There are many fresh vegetable stir-fries, some with meat. The fried rice is delicious, and there are pasta dishes that are some of the best we’ve ever had – especially the creamy chicken and mushroom, and the Sichuan peppercorn shrimp. There are special pizzas you can order with custom toppings and crust options. We’ve been working our way through their menu and, honestly, we have not been disappointed with any of the dishes we’ve ordered. Everything is cooked with a light hand, and the ingredients are very fresh. On this recent outing we had three dishes: dumplings, creamy chicken mushroom pasta and pickled mustard green soup. We polished off the pasta and dumplings, but the soup portion was so big we took the rest home. Turns out the leftover soup went really well with our tuna fish sandwiches at home the next day. Fupo has been a regular lunch or dinner outing for us, and we...
Read moreMy husband has ordered takeout from here several times, but I didn't get a chance to try it yet myself but after hearing him rave about how delicious, fresh, and tasty the food was I had to try it myself! So he took me on a small date today to Fupo Cafe and it was SO worth it!
The food is so balanced and yummy. They know how to not overdo oil or spice and instead the focus is on the ingredients and overall quality. I feel like their food has such a bright vibe to it.
This doesn't cover how kind the family who runs the restaurant are, and how attentive they are! Such sweet people, and amazing food!!
I wish we took more photos of the food but this is a pic of the vegetable cold noodles! In any case, I highly recommend this spot for lunch or just a cozy,...
