I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Village Tavern in Jeffersonville, VT, conveniently located minutes from Smuggler’s Notch, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with a warm and welcoming ambiance. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure our dining experience was exceptional.
The food was absolutely delicious, with a diverse menu that catered to a variety of tastes. I tried the grilled salmon and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned, with fresh and high-quality ingredients. The portion sizes were generous and the presentation was beautiful. I highly recommend the Maple Chipotle Wings(we are in VT of course) or the Quesadilla Explosion Salad to really get your taste buds going. They offer a variety of classics for kids as well such as Chicken Fingers, Hot Dogs, and Spaghetti.
Overall, I highly recommend The Village Tavern to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Jeffersonville. The combination of excellent food, friendly service, and cozy atmosphere make it a must-visit destination. I will definitely be returning in the future.
PLEASE NOTE: They are VERY busy so you will likely not get through via phone. I showed up in person to a packed restaurant, placed my takeout order and was out...
Read moreNot awful first choice but one of the only decent places in town. We arrived without a reservation as we didn’t know it was needed. We waited a few minutes and were seated then waited about 20 minutes to get sodas. Before we ordered we were told there was a wait in the kitchen for over an hour. We stayed as again very few options. While we waited for our food the staff was definitely hustling but were very loudly talking badly about large groups coming in after us and then leaving because they had to wait. We get it, not everyone has patience or the willingness to wait but as staff of the establishment you should NEVER bad mouth the people who keep you open…..at least in front of the whole establishment. Food was average, soda was watered down too much, and I think service suffered just because of the lack of organization. There were a few people just standing around for quite some time so I’m not sure if everyone knows their...
Read moreVillage Tavern turned out to be the perfect (and really, the only) spot in town for an evening out. We stopped by for drinks and were pleasantly surprised to find that, beyond the beer and cocktails, the food was genuinely good — not just standard bar fare.
We ordered the Alpine salad and a quesadilla that was absolutely fantastic — not just cheese, but loaded with shrimp and vegetables, making it much more flavorful and satisfying than expected.
The atmosphere was exactly what you’d hope for in a tavern: lots of wood accents, a lively bar counter, and the kind of friendly noise that makes the place feel warm and social. The service was attentive and added to the positive vibe.
Overall, Village Tavern left a great impression and made for a fun, relaxed evening. We’d happily return next time...
