I had ordered a dairy free cake for my girlfriend (who is lactose intolerant) and she wanted a edible image of a meme for her birthday cake. I explained all of this when I made the order. The lady who I talked to was nice and was straight forward with me that she had only made a dairy free or vegan cake only once and wasn't pleased with how it turned out, despite that I gave her a chance to make my order. I see now that was a huge mistake.

Before even getting to how this cake tasted I have to say that I am genuinely baffled at the boxing and presentation of the cake. I had asked why it was in a cardboard box and was told that it was due to them running out of their regular cake boxes...regardless if that was the case this is not how I would expect anyone's birthday cake to be boxed. As for the edible image, well apparently that just wouldn't have been possible with the type of frosting on the cake and instead she just printed the picture and taped it to some sticks in the cake. The part of this issue that was extremely unprofessional was that I never received any phone call, email, text, etc. to tell me that the edible image wasn't going to be doable and she just assumed that this would be okay (even though I was charged for an edible image). The edible image was a big part of what my girlfriend wanted for her cake and had I known it wouldn't' have worked out I would have canceled the order.

As for the taste of the cake. What else can I say other than extremely disappointing. The cake was extremely dry and the flavors seemed to be all over the place with some of the frosting being sweet and some having a sour aftertaste. However, with all that said the worst part is, when I picked up the cake I was told that there wasn't enough of the dairy free frosting she made so she used a regular frosting to cover the parts were cake was exposed. That is unacceptable for any food establishment to knowingly contaminate food with an allergen that was explicitly asked to keep free from!

I chose this bakery based off of the reviews that I had seen online and even now I'm at a loss at how different my experience has been vs. that of the other reviewers. I definitely won't be returned and I would never recommend this...

My daughter and I were at Southern Park Mall & tried the salted caramel cupcakes.... WOW! Absolutely perfect, and the caramel whipped buttercream was just amazing! Melts in your mouth. Everything is clean & presented beautifully, and the ladies are helpful and kind. It's a 45 minute drive for me, but I will definitely be heading back for more!!
