Some changes to staff and to their brews and feel I need to adjust the review downward.
This shop remains of favorite of mine but I feel the quality and consistency of the preparation has suffered. With summer in full swing, I have leaned heavily on the iced coffee drinks and feel they lack the rich flavor they used to have. For example tried a coffee lemonade which tasted like coffee and lemon juice (although it looked nice) and had a coffee old fashioned a few months ago that was great and then a more recent one which was almost undrinkable.
Lastly, there have been a lot of new faces on staff. It is hard to live up to the owner and his first employee as they were both great behind the counter but my suggestion for these new faces is pay more attention to greeting your customers and making them feel like you are happy to have someone in the shop. If I want impersonal there are plenty of other less expensive options for that.
ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW Definitely a five star type of shop. If you live in the area, you need to try the coffee. Whereas a shop like Starbucks leans heavily on coffee that emphasizes the roast and not the bean. The coffee they serve here is smooth and often fruity (for coffee), with distinct flavor that is more aboutathetbean than how long it was roasted. Regardless, it is always flavorful.
They have a few food items but this is not a place to grab a breakfast sandwich or muffin with you coffee. At least notnyet. On the flip side , it is in a beautifully renovated, historic train station!
While the coffee is on the more expensive side, the owner is the type of guy you want to support. He'll know your name after probably 4 visits and if there is something he can do to make your coffee or experience better, he will do it.

The interior looks like a historic train station still, and they have this phenomenal granola called Maple and Time. Their tea is, I believe, kilogram tea.
My one complaint was that there was a customer there with a toddler, who was pleasantly going up to people and saying high and wandering the whole space. I backed away and told the woman that I have brittle bones and was anxious when her son came toddling quickly over to me (I get hurt moving the wrong way, and cats and kiddos have dislocated hips and sprained ankles as I have Ehlers Danlos syndrome). The woman said “no worries,” and proceeded to do nothing about her kid following me.
I was waiting for food, otherwise I would have left (and I almost left anyway, because my safety is more important than a sandwich).
I went to the opposite side of the cafe with a shelf in between me and the kid, but he kept trying to run around the shelf to get to me.
The mom finally got up and got her kid and I said “I don’t know why he likes me so much.” She said “I don’t know either, but that isn’t a bad thing.” And said it kind of annoyed. I had been clear that I have a disability and need to stay safe, and it really bothered me that I had to play ring-around-the-rosie and get anxious and stressed rather than relaxed over coffee.
That isn’t the store clerks fault, but it made me not want to come back, lest I be in that unsafe position again.
That said, it is such a cute space and fully accessible (ramp and everything). Plenty of parking too, as it is right beside the...
Read moreI found this cozy little shop while looking for local businesses to try. It feels calming and relaxing and it smells so good. It is very clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Some coffee shops have sort of a snobby fancy feel to them, you feel a little out of place ordering so you are too afraid to try new things. Not this one. They would be happy to explain it all and help you find the drink you love. I visited twice over a couple of days. The first time was for a mocha and it was great. Very well done. He said they serve donuts on the weekend so of course I stopped back by on Sunday for that. When he said they serve donuts, he didn't mean mass produced glazed sugar rings. No. He meant like someone actually got up and worked their butt off to prepare these ingredients and actually make these donuts. Actual real donuts! They were soooo good. I need to go back there.. man, I'm kinda sad thinking about those donuts now. They were...
