What a shame. I had hoped we found a great local restaurant, but sadly, the service and attitude left us with a bad taste in our mouths. Can't blame COVID on this one. We arrived at 6 pm - party of 6. We were seated in our reserved seats and everything was going ok until after we received apps. Our apps consisted of two cups of pasta fagioli and eggplant fries. They were ok - nothing great, but ok. Then we sat and waited for an hour and a half for the rest of our dinner. We were heading to an 8 pm show, so arriving at 6 pm should have been plenty of time. If service was slow to everyone, we would have chalked it up to short staff, but literally everyone in the restaurant including several tables who were seated well after us were served. When we reminded our server twice that we were going to a show and needed our food, we finally received it at 7:30, having to inhale it and get to-go boxes. Normally in a situation like this where the kitchen or server clearly lost our order, some kind of small offer is made, like a free appetizer or offer for desert or a free drink. NOTHING. We asked our server about it and he said, "We don't do that here." What a shame. A small gesture would have saved six customers who will now not go back there. As for the rest of the food, the Clams and Mussels Fra diovolo were excellent. The pizza was good, not great, the pasta carbonara with shrimp was watery and bland, the brushetta was brushetta - nothing special. Costs were pretty high for such a mediocre meal and VERY high for poor customer service. I guess they don't need new customers because they were willing to let six people who would have been good customers walk. By the way, we were always very polite to the server whose name was Dave. Good luck if you go there for a meal before a show. Give yourself...

We just loved this place - very very good food! We are staying at a nearby hotel and came back to our room after a long day of looking at real estate...it was pouring rain so we searched Google for the closest place to get good pizza and this place came up...so we gave it a try. Cute looking on the outside in an unassuming but attractive corner strip center location. The inside is basic but very cozy...and we were greeted enthusiastically when we walked in - even though it was less than an hour before closing and the place was fairly empty. We had the nicest waitress with brown hair in a ponytail - don't know her name but she was so nice and a little bit motherly which was great with us. We each had the BEST soups - chicken noodle and white bean sausage...both were just nothing short of wonderful, flavorful, and comforting - seriously! So impressed. The chicken noodle soup came in a huge bowl and had literally tons of chicken in it...amazing flavor too - same with the sausage bean...heavenly. We then got a pizza which was just so tasty - light sauce, very light and crispy browned crust, great cheese...just totally yum. The Italian chardonnay was surprisingly good quality for just $6 a glass - and the bread was nice and warm...which we were served with our soup. I just truly wish we had a place like this at home...because if we did I doubt I would cook very much. You just can't beat it for the price and service - and I noticed there was a cute outside dining area which we couldn't try bc of the rain - wish we had more time to try it again but we are heading to Naples tomorrow. Really, give this place a try - the food is superb and it is just the kind of place you want to patronize bc it's family run, the service is great, and the prices are so...

Really confused, we chose this place based on the reviews and it was a huge disappointment. The space is very small, and as soon as you walk in, there is an old curtain hanging with two t-shirts on it, very weird and pointless, makes the entrance look even smaller and tacky. We had a reservation for 6pm and were seated right away. Ordered within a couple minutes, two appetizers, one kids meal, 3 adult meals. The bread was really good, the only thing that deserves to be highlighted, which is sad. The appetizers came out at 6:45pm, and one was wrong, the waitress simply said: “oh I didn’t hear that, I can take it back”, one of the meals was a Caesar salad that came closer to 7pm (an hour for a salad), it was busy, but not packed, we understand, but expect the waitress to come and give an update or something. Some random person kept putting bread baskets on the table. Our little one was anxious because she was hungry (she ordered spaghetti with nothing on it), I had to ask if at least hers was ready. Both our kids finished their salad and spaghetti and our meals still had not come out. When we finally got them (veal Parmesan and shrimp carbonara) they were ok. Nothing out of this world. We’ve had better at other places that offer good service. We always give every restaurant 3 chances, because we know sometimes there can be odd days or reasons for mishaps, but this is a hard one to convince my family to return to. The waitress couldn’t care less, that in addition to how long the food takes, only to get average flavors you can find anywhere, is just not enough reason. We really wanted to...

My boyfriend has been telling me about this Italian place he wanted to try that's close to my place off College Pkwy and this past Saturday evening we decided to give it a try. Firstly- its SMALL. So if you have a big party or have to sit inside for A/C; plan on coming early. They do not have a bar area (normally as a couple, that's where we chose to sit). We were able to be seated right away and we just sat on the same side of the table. The tables are very close together to fit the maximum number of tables in. We arrived early (about 4:30pm) but by 5pm- the place was packed (they have outdoor seating on a porch and that seemed full also). We decided on the calamari and split the chicken marsala. The calamari was good. You could tell that the oil it was fried in was fresh; my only disappointment was that there were no heads. The marsala its was served with was awesome too. Fresh bread was brought to the table first while we enjoyed a bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio and watched the place get busier. The wait time on our marsala was longer than our appetizer but the place had gotten much busier. The young man that waited on us was kind and efficient trying to juggle numerous tables. The kitchen was kind enough to split Chicken Marsala and it was wonderful. The only reason for the 4-stars is that when you have a restaurant that's this good- you need to know when its time to expand and get a larger place. I realize its difficult trying to get staff at this time; but the food will definitely keep us coming back. We will just time it like we did this past Saturday...

We’re so disappointed it took us this long to try Citrola’s! You walk in and it feels like a classic mom and pop Italian joint and that’s exactly what it is! The ambiance is the perfect amount of dark and comfortable. Loud enough for you to have a conversation at a reasonable volume but not too loud that you have to raise your voice to talk to the other people at your table. Everyone working had a great attitude and greeted us with smiles that genuinely felt like they enjoyed what they do. And the food was great. The freshly baked bread came to the table piping hot and delicious. The fried mozzarella was cooked perfectly and the marinara for dipping had just the right balance of acidity to sweet ratio that complemented the mozz perfectly. The meat lovers pizza was loaded with meat. There’s not a bite that’s not filled with a combination of pepperoni, sausage, ham, and bacon. I would have preferred the bottom crust to be slightly crispier, but the end crust was absolutely perfect. Not too thick and chewy where your jaw is sore after eating, but the right amount of crunch and chew. The meat ravioli was classic Italian feel-good food. You can’t help but smile when eating it. We’d go back and order the exact same thing again and be thrilled. But I do think next time we’ll try something new because all indications are they do everything well at Citrola’s
