I organized an outing to Snappers for a dinner and show for 26 people on Jan. 21, 2023. I appreciate Amber’s quick response to my questions on email and phone in order to organize this event. Unfortunately the evening turned out to be a disappointment but we tried to make the best of it. When asked, I was told to have everyone try to arrive at 4:00 and no later than 4:30. When we arrived a few minutes after 4:00 we were asked to wait outside as the carpets were being vacuumed. No problem. When we entered shortly after, we were seated at 2 tables of 12 which was fine since 3 of our party could not attend. At that point we were the only patrons in the place which was ideal in order to be served. Unfortunately, the servers were not ready to receive us at that point. A different server was assigned to each table. One table was able to order drinks around 4:20, but the other table didn’t get their drink orders taken until 4:35 and it wasn’t until around 5:00 that they actually received their drinks. Some of my party wanted to order food immediately but were told she was only doing the drink orders at that point. Other patrons had begun to arrive and our server was now starting to serve them as well. After the drink wait, I could see immediately that ordering and getting our food was now going to be a big problem. The table that received their drinks first, started to receive their meals in dribs and drabs…3 to 4 meals would come out but scattered amongst the table of 12 in no particular order. Then 10 minutes later maybe another few meals and so on. Our table did not start receiving meals until around 5:20 and again, a few meals every 10 minutes or so. Some husband and wives received their meals a full half hour apart. People ate separately with those around them with no food at all…it was an extremely awkward situation. 4 people from our table received their meals at 5:45 and my husband and I still didn’t have our meals at 6:00 when the comedians started. Somewhere around 6:15 (a full 2 and a quarter hours after we arrived!) we received our meals and now had to try and eat in the dark. I kept biting into hard crunchy items which I couldn’t see, which turned out to be uncooked rice mixed in with cooked rice. Needless to say, we could not enjoy our meal or the comedians at this point. Aside from the service issue, my party’s reviews on the food were mixed. Those who ordered the stir fry or curry thought it was very good. The chicken and steak dinners had very mixed reviews but the main issue there was that some of the food was cold by the time it came out. The vegetables were soggy (overcooked) and others had uncooked rice in their meal as I did. I will say everyone was shocked that you had to order bottles of water with your food (if you wanted water). I knew (and support) the 2 order minimum per person which definitely wasn’t an issue with our group since we all ordered a meal and a drink already. If you are going to offer a dinner/show combo you definitely need to offer water to the table (at not charge) like any other restaurant. For the most part, the group said they enjoyed the comedians but I definitely was feeling embarrassed by the situation and had difficulty enjoying the evening . I do appreciate that the manager/company issued vouchers to the 2 from our party that didn’t attend due to having Covid (and not wanting to infect others), and that my husband and I received a drink on the house due to receiving our meals so late. (I was supposed to be the DD and hadn’t planned on drinking alcohol that night…and then they didn’t have the ingredients for the drink I requested from the cocktail menu). Although it appeared the staff was working hard that night (the manager especially), something is not working in terms of the service. I had hoped to make this an annual event with the group but definitely would not recommend the dinner/show for a large group. Perhaps things would be better in a...
Read moreFirst, the place is chaotic. Unorganized. Second, my server was NOT polite nor did she follow foodservice standards. Asked for a drink menu. Jen, the server, said “we don’t have one, just a full bar and wine.” I literally could see multiple drink menus on the other tables. She said this as she stands there in a dirty uniform pulling and playing with her hair, reeking of cigarettes. Very dismissive, very inattentive. On many occasions I would see her walking through the dining room chewing on food she’d gotten from another employees table. This set off the entire vibe. Hard to enjoy yourself with such an unpleasant energy. The crowd was small & full of hecklers. It’s rude to the comedians and the people who pay to enjoy the show. Not the drunk commentators. Furthermore, the very table cloths that were used to set up tables for guests as they arrive were grabbed from the floor in a corner near the restroom. The silverware was spotted and dirty. The food was mediocre and cold, but that could be because the server put in the wrong table number so our food literally surfed the entire dining room before making it to us and only did so because my friend said I believe that’s our food as the runner asks everyone if they know who ordered it. I asked for the check more than once and was told by Jen, “It’s gonna be a while” as she walked around what seemed cluelessly. Asked again and she had the bus service drop off the check. She then grabbed my card and literally had it for 25 minutes. I physically had to get up to look for her to ask for my card back because at this point is she stealing my info? She made it such a horrible experience. We could hear all the tables around us complain about their service as well. People were going to the bar for self service. The three top in front of us walked out because their food was taking so long and the manager literally was about to chase them down to still pay for the food that they were yet to receive. I heard him and Jen saying the $20 only covered the waters and not their food THAT THEY DIDNT RECEIVE. I did notice that other server seemed so poised and attentive to her tables and the food runner seemed to do a bunch of the work. The host did a great job engaging with the audience. I left at 9, before the show ended because their was no vibe at that point.
I came back to add an addendum to my post. I am atm waiting for the manager Ginger to call be back because the server decided she would help herself to an 18% tip added to my check without my authorization after I closed my tab. Too bad for her I have a photo of the actual receipt and my bank charges and plan to go to the police. Who knows how many times she’s...
Read morePrice was reasonable , 20.00 a ticket to see 4 comics. Staff was great. Had pizza and it was great. Not gonna lie, wings are dry, and overcooked. Just added lots of ranch. Server was nice , comedians were great. My wife had a drink and said it was fine. It was great. Went for the first time last night, going to go next week. My wife reviewed on yelp too…For the money, you can’t beat it…
Went last night for the second time . 94.00 for dinner and show for two people. Service was great and so was the food if not for the table to the right of us who talked for two hours non stop. If they didn’t like the show go outside but don’t be rude to paying customers and comics who have come to perform. The club made an announcement before the show to turn off cells and not talk during the performances. They missed that because they were talking.
We went for the third time 5/25/24. Food and service vastly improved. Place was packed. 38.00 a person for dinner and a show, appetizers and drinks and gratuity extra. They now also tell you before the show not to get on your phone, or talk or heckle performers , so no one behaved like the inconsiderate people we had to endure last time. Comics tonight were awesome. Dave Landau was totally uncensored but it was really funny . We had an amazing time and so will you. Two shows , one at 6 one at 9. Just...
