I wasn't expecting much when I first walked in but ice cream, and I was greeted with a very kind smile and a, "how are you doing today?" I smiled and greeted myself, and saw the large selection of items they had on their menu, and she introduced me to the ice cream selection, which is very important to read what they are and not just the name of (some previous customers were upset about some ice cream for not having ingredients in the ice cream when it's in the name.
I decided to have a cone with mango and strawberry, and it was great! Had a conversation with the lady, discussed how business was, and she asked if there was anything else. I looked at the menu, and saw the Turkey Sandwich. I asked her about it, and she told me that it's a sandwich that she uses either a baguette or a crispy one for bread, turkey and some kind of cheese (I forgot what it was). I asked her if she made the sandwiches or if they were premade, and she says that she made them herself!! Instantly did I add that to the list, and she went to the back to make it.
While she was in the back and I was trying to pay for my meal, I looked down and noticed my cone was breaking apart. I tried to save it but it broke in half and fell over onto the screen. 🤦 I tried to save it and asked for help, she came from the back in a hurry and got me bowls to put my ice cream in. She got a wet rag and cleaned up the screen, and we were laughing the whole time. She said she never experienced something like that before, nor did I, and it was hilarious the whole time. She offered to get me another cone, and I obviously said yes 😹
I got my new cone that was just strawberry for free, got my sandwich and chips, didn't get the three bean salad, and sat in the dining hall and enjoyed the atmosphere. The parlor is a vibe in itself; no music, sounds of the cars on del Prado driving by, and the lighting is exquisite.
I highly recommend coming here! Great food, great ice cream, and gosh dagnit great customer...

The presentation is good and the area is beautiful. The flavors are great and much creativity goes into the names and combinations. The service is ok but for instance, when we went we were given waffle bowls that were stale, even though they said they made them in the morning. 🤷♂️ On one of the ice creams we bought, had more of one flavor than the other, which is nice but had we know, we would have ordered it the other way around. The lady said it's because we didn't say anything.. again, we weren't asked which flavor we wanted at the bottom or at the top. Then they scooped it out with the same spoon we were going to eat it with, and the other person placed the new scoop in its place but didn't have gloves on anymore and part of her finger went inside the ice cream. In any case, it was good but I would have handled it differently. Then the lady made conversation with us, which is nice, but again, I would have handled it differently of you know...
Read moreWe love trying local ice cream shops so we had to check this place out since it was on the same street we stayed on.
We got 3 scoops: The Beautiful Juanita (Almond/Amaretto) Island Time (Cherry Vanilla) A Slice of Paradise (Birthday Cake)
The cherry was definitely my favorite. The almond wasn't bad. They were better mixed together. Most of the more interesting flavors have chocolate mixed in them.
My biggest issue was the birthday cake. It looked like a normal funfetti style birthday cake from afar, but once we got it and I started eating it, I realized they put chocolate cake in it too. This was an unpleasant surprise for someone who doesn't like chocolate and wasn't mentioned in the description.
One of the employees was friendly, but the other was rather snarky.
Chocolate aside, I wouldn't say it's a must try. If you're in the area and like chocolate, they have some...
