I called for take-out, ordered the baby churrasco with chimichuri & two fish ceviches. While waiting for my take out order I also ordered paella. I asked Omar if the chimichuri was inside the bag before leaving & he said yes. After getting home, there was no chimichuri, the fish ceviche tasted like old, stale fish. The paella tasted ok, it was decent. I called to complain & Omar said that the owner Elizabeth would be calling me right away. No call ever came. I called back & they wouldn't answer my calls. I called again & Omar said that he spoke with Elizabeth and that she would call me right back. Finally, after several hours, she called back. I told her that Omar had said that she had called my phone & it rang busy, which I let her know that cell phones don't have a busy tone, if I'm on a call it rings & I can pick up the other line. Then she said that it went straight to voicemail...bottom line she had not called prior. She expected me to drive back to their restaurant to take their food back, I told her there was no way I was driving back over there, especially after work. I told her the baby churasco was on the table cold, since it doesn't taste the same without chimichuri, it tastes very bland without it & that we threw away the old, stale tasting fish ceviche in the trash, since Omar kept telling me that she was going to call me right away & she wouldn't call, Omar hung up the phone on me and they stopped answering my calls. I had to call the Ft Myers El Patio and spoke with Renato to try to resolve this. Elizabeth said for me to dig the fish ceviche out of the trash & that she would come to pick the food up. I told her that is nasty & that I'm not digging through our kitchen trash to pick up chunks of fish in liquid that fell throughout our trash. Truly insulting, unprofessional, rude, unmanneted the way the whole situation was handled by them! Not only do they change their stories around but flat out lie. When I ordered the baby churrasco on the phone for take out I asked for chimichuri. When they placed that order on the counter, bag was knotted closed, which at that point I asked Omar if the chimichuri was in there & he said yes without even checking. I told Elizabeth that on the phone & she apologized but now changed the story around. Not good...
Read moreWe visited El Patio in Cape Coral for the first time – a party of four. We arrived after 6:00 for dinner and there were two other tables occupied. We ordered an appetizer – A La Huancaina with the Peruvian Corn. And a Peruvian drink Pisco (lemon). The appetizer was uneventful and the additional charge for the Peruvian Corn not worth the cost, but it was all part of the experience. The Pisco was very good, although since this was our first time having this drink, we had nothing to compare.
We ordered (3) Lomo Saltado and (1) Mar Y Tierra. I requested to have the Lomo Saltado mixture of Beef and vegetables to be severed over the fries. That is how I have had Lomo Saltado served when in Los Angeles and our waitress was excited to have it prepared this way. Apparently, it is the more traditional way to serve this dish because the fries can soak-up much of the sauce. The Mar Y Tierra looked very good and the skirt steak still had a little pink despite how thin the cut of beef. There was an abundance of seafood, as well.
I did not taste the Mar Y Tierra but the Lomo Saltado was very good. Excellent flavors and plenty of beef and vegetables. Even the white rice served with this dish was surprisingly tasty, although next time I might substitute a side dish of their vegetable Fried Rice (another Peruvian staple from Chinese influence). The service throughout the dinner was excellent, in-part because there were few tables occupied, however, quite a few Take-out orders were being picked-up. Our servers (Liz and Ellie) were very helpful in explaining the menu selections and Liz especially, really knew the menu and the Peruvian food. The only inconvenience we experienced was how long it took to receive our check and then pay for the meals. I finally went to the counter to get the check and then again to pay after waiting for quite a bit of time.
Four Stars instead of Five Stars because of the very slow "check-out" process. The food and service are 5-Stars. We are looking forward to returning to try other...
Read moreBad experience horrible food. I am the type of person who gives a second chance to every restaurant I visit. The first time the food was bad so it took a year for me to come back and see if the service or the food was better now based on the good reviews, I was so wrong the food was much worse than the first time. Me and my family ordered Tamale, fried chicken with fries for my son, Hen soup, Pollo a la parrilla (grilled chicken) and tacu tacu con saltado de mariscos (seafood). I tried tamale which was really dry, it’s ok I said cause I know how hard is to make tamale not a big deal, my son’s fried chicken was really low in salt and dry, when the waitress came we let her know about it and she was very kind and apologetic, we said we were going to just add salt. Then we got the chicken soup which was ok. At the end we got the grilled chicken and Tacu tacu with seafood. This grilled chicken was disgusting it has no salt at all and no chicken flavor it looked like shoe sole, that was the breaking point we rejected it we were really disappointed because we are Peruvians and this is not how Peruvian food is made. Our waitress was very apologetic and sad that we had such a bad experience. While I was paying the bill She asked me if I could talk to the manager about it so I did but when the manager came out She and her husband made excuses instead of at least apologizing. Food and service like this is unacceptable. Our waitress was great she understood and tried to help us but she can’t fix this horrible experience it’s...
