I came in to pickup our order, to where the owner introduced himself boldly. He said he was the new owner, this worried me bc the fish was always on point fantastic. He continued to boast about how his food is even better than the previous owner. While appeared friendly Enough, I asked him if his cheesesteaks are any better than last time bc it tasted like the crumbs burnt on a grill. He assured me the grills are cleaned etc. I said ok I’ll leave a review. My mom ordered the cheesesteak, opened it, said where’s the cheese? Why is the chicken in little ground up balls instead of shredded? She took a bite, threw it down. Eww. It’s dried up I took a bite agreed. I tried my fish. NOT on point. It’s no longer light and flaky, it’s thick and has no particular flavor. Texture and thickness and consistency it doesn’t absorb the vinegar like it used to and just all around bland. Something definitely has changed in quality. My Mom tried to get her money back, person who answers the phone claimed to have been “abused” by my poor mother who gets paid once a month and just wanted to express her concern for the food as a long time regular customer and just get the over priced $34 crap we had rcvd. She did not cuss, yell, nothing lady just didn’t want to believe what she was saying and just offer more junk food. I’m super upset, I LOVED the old guy on the grill before. What a shame. He should call the old Owner and...
Read moreThe absolute best Philly's and fish around, but I witnessed a woman come in yesterday to try to return a sandwich a week later the owner tried to accommodate her by either making a new sandwich or giving her a credit and she refused she wanted cash! First of all who tries to bring a sandwich back to a restaurant after a week saying there was a hair in it, demanding to get cash back not to mention the sandwich smelt like it was forgotten in a car for a week; is probably more like it! Pretty ridiculous if you ask me then threatens to write bad reviews about the business! The situation was handled professionally in my eyes but the woman kept insisting she lived in Estero and couldn't get back there to return it; sounds to me like the woman was hard up for money! Pretty sad.It is an amazing place and the owner is very accommodating to all his customers and does not deserve the lies she is telling against him or his establishment, especially when people are in there eating and witnessed the situation.Pretty pathetic! If you have not tried this place you definitely need to they have amazing food I frequent there a few times a week, they have great Philly's , fish and chips and jumbo wings the honey jalapeno is the absolute best!!! I give them a 10\10 , friendly and very...
Read more2021 UPDATE: I've had to lower my rating for this establishment as the past few times I've been here has been a less than stellar customer service experience. In fact, the last time i was in there, I ordered carry-out about 30 minutes before they closed. I walk in and a man and young lady standing behind the counter stare at me, with the lady leaning over to whisper something to the guy. Meanwhile, the guy gives me a silent stare the entire time. This wasn't the first time he'd done that as two other times I ordered and picked up the food he did the same thing. Weird.
Anyway, I don't know what the whispering was about but it was incredibly rude doing that in front of a customer. I did have a surgical mask on and they didn't so maybe that was the reason. Either way, it left a lasting impression on me and was not cool.
FOOD: The food is good. Fish and chips were hot and fresh. No real complaints there. After having it several times I wouldn't say its the best fish and chips I've ever had but it will work for SWFL. Carry out is fast and efficient.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: When I first started coming here 2019 the service was friendly and great but see the above revision to my review as there has been a marked change in the...
