Rei's Bakery — Restaurant in Cape Coral

I'd give them 5 stars but today after so many years of going there. I was on my way home from a doctor's appointment, so I decided to make a quick stop and buy my family some pastries which we love being that we are of cuban descent. I walked in there were 3 customer the trays were completely empty. mind you it was only 3 pm and they close at 5 pm during the week. I asked the cashier if they were going to put some more pastries out. "She replied No!" "Why would I turn the ovens on and how many pastries do you want? " I was surprised to say the least. I couldn't believe that given they had 2 more hours of operation they'd deny a customer or not have enough pastries to carry them till closing even if some go to waste which I know they wouldn't. What an awful experience! I give this place a one star because i needed to give it something to review this cafe; but if not i would give it a zero!! From the moment we walked in the energy was heavy. The girl at the front was rude with zero personality! In the 30min we were there she didn't even Crack a small. The cuban sandwich we ordered was the worst cuban I've ever had! The pork was hard and the ham didn't taste fresh!! On top of that it was messy and soggy!

After that experience, I'm ashamed to say I'm Cuban! A cuban cafe can't master a "cuban sandwich "??

From a business owners perspective there was a lot here that was disappointing.

I stopped in because a friend had told me the Cuban here was the best. I ordered that and a side of fries and it was delicious. I stopped in another day and order the same exact thing. Instead of getting what I wanted I got a ice cold Cuban sandwich and Potato Sticks on it instead of an order of fries. I had drove about 5 to 10 minutes away parked and ate about a quarter of a sandwich before I couldn't take the cold sandwich anymore. I tried calling but the lady did not understand English very well. I came back in and they stuck it in a microwave and gave it back to me. I probably won't be...
